Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Will Seize The eSports Ecosystem

After the failure of Call of Duty: Vanguard, the game of 2021, Activision put a lot of pressure on Modern Warfare II, the sequel to the excellent reboot of the series by the studio Infinity Ward. Official information as of November 2 states that the new Call of Duty game will feature a range of modes and other features. This includes ranked play, which will begin in 2023. Modern Warfare Changes the Game

Breaking The Mold

After only a week on the market, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 broke a new sales record. The legendary first-person war franchise managed to exceed a collection of $800 million between the sale of the different editions and the microtransactions acquired by the players. As a result, it became the title of the series with the largest launch in history.

To understand the dimension of the success it is generating, the video game surpassed the previous mark of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III, the end of the original trilogy of 2011. It grossed $775 million in its first five days. It also surpassed the impact of the releases of Top Gun: Maverick and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness combined.

Modern Warfare II Continues Run of Success

Treyarch hasn't yet announced a release date or time, but it is expected that the ranked title will be made available to Modern Warfare 2 sometime in 2023, right before the CDL. In December, the competition, which pits 12 teams against each in a hostile arena, will begin.
