Well, it's about time. Feral Interactive announced that the sixth entry in the cyberpunk action-RPG series, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, is finally coming to the macOS on December 12th. Not only that, the game will be augmented with Metal 2, Apple’s latest graphics API.
Set in 2029, you take on the role of Adam Jensen, an augmented covert agent living in a society where a pervasive climate of fear grips the cities, and people discriminate against augmented humans pretty hard. The interesting part of this series is that although Jensen is always becoming more powerful, receiving more and more weaponized augmentations, society's fear increases, almost as a counter balance. It's kind of like the whole X-Men vibe, but augmentations are usually chosen, while mutations are not.
The strength of the series has always been in the plethora of choices available to the player. Players can tailor their augmentations to suit their individual play style, whether that's sowing confusion among your enemies, stealthily sneaking as a non-lethal (or lethal) ninja, hacking and using your foes' technology against them, or just picking up a dumpster and whipping it into a group of guards then opening fire on them with a high-powered machine gun. Nothing there not to love.
