Set in the '20s, The Sinking City is an adventure and investigation title inspired by the works of well-known horror master, H.P. Lovecraft. In The Sinking City, you are Charles, a haunted ex-war vet turned private detective who just arrived in Oakmont, Massachusetts to investigate the cause of an unprecedented supernatural flood. It is not long before terrors come crawling out of the wood work and evil rears its ugly head(s). You'll have to explore the town to discover what's taken hold of the town and the minds of its inhabitants.

The trailers have all been exceptional so far and the small bits of gameplay that we've gotten are looking very interesting as well, especially the investigative stuff. It reminds me a little of Hellsign (check our our complete EA review here), although the gunplay looks like most over the shoulder, third person shooters that I've played before. In the video below, the community manager gives a simple reason for why the game is being pushed back, which is stated plainly: they want to make sure that you play it, and the time frame they had initially is just too crowded. I love it when companies shoot you straight instead of making up a bunch of BS reasons why they're doing something.

The extra time will also give them a chance to refine and polish, which is never a bad thing. We'll have to wait and see how all these gameplay elements mesh when the game arrives on June 27th, 2019 for PS4, PC and Xbox One.
