Pet Sematary was a great flick in the 80's and it's a great flick now. The movie is well cast, and is disturbing as hell. That said, I'm tentatively excited about the remake, despite the fact that I am almost always against reboots and remakes in general. It doesn't hurt that "IT" was super badass, and the studio will (hopefully) be extremely careful with how they handle the property, so they can make a million billion dollars like IT did.

Variety dropped a report in October that Kevin Kolsch and Dennis Widmyer (Starry Eyes) would direct, with Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Mark Vahradian producing and Jeff Buhler and David Kajganich writing the script, with Alexandra Loewy executive producing.

Jason Clarke is currently in negotiations to play Louis Creed, the father of the ill-fated family, who was portrayed by Dale Midkiff in the 1989 movie.

Pet Sematary opens in theaters on April 19, 2019.
