Pretty much everything we've been hearing and reading has cast this film in a negative light, from multiple release date pushes, extensive reshoots, extremely poor first impressions and critical audience reactions. In short, it looks like this film is going the way of X-Men: Apocalypse, and by that, I mean... crappy.
The synopsis for the film goes a little like this: The X-Men face their most formidable and powerful foe when one of their own, Jean Grey, starts to spiral out of control. During a rescue mission in outer space, Jean is nearly killed when she's hit by a mysterious cosmic force. Once she returns home, this force not only makes her infinitely more powerful, but far more unstable. The X-Men must now band together to save her soul and battle aliens that want to use Grey's new abilities to rule the galaxy.
Now, if you read comics at all, have ever heard of Jean Grey or have seen the terrible X-Men: Last Stand, you know that Jean dies in the end, and dies hard. After being possessed by the Phoenix force, she makes the final sacrifice and blah, blah, blah. In short, we all have seen this story and we all know how it ends, so it will be interesting to see how this will differ from the incarnations that we already now, besides just having better effects and new actors. However, this new trailer actually looks pretty decent. Give it a watch below.
What do you think? Does this movie have a chance, or is it gonna be a big bowl of whatever? Let us know in the comments.
