Two More PS1 Titles Join The Antstream Library This Week

- This week’s new additions include top-down cartoon racing and turn-based strategy with worms.

London, 4th September: With the imminent arrival of Antstream Arcade on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, it seems appropriate to add two more PlayStation titles to the Antstream library this week. Enjoy top-down racing with Motor Mash (PS1) and yet more crazy turn-based strategy with Worms Armageddon (PS1).

For this week’s challenge, head to Battle Chopper (Arcade) and jump into Chopping Away. Help Mr. Heli get the best score possible with one life by taking out enemies and upgrading your aircraft.

Worms Armageddon was launched originally for Microsoft Windows machines in 1999 by Team17, before being ported to other systems, including the PlayStation. The third instalment in the hugely popular Worms series, Worms Armageddon was developed as an expansion for 1997's Worms 2 before being launched as a stand-alone. Acclaimed by critics, Worms Armageddon was very well received and remains popular to this day.

In the game, players control a team of up to eight earthworms with the goal of wiping out the opposition with a wide array of different weapons and tools, from a simple shotgun, to the well known Holy Hand Grenade. Played in 2D, the destructible environments create as much of a hazard as opposing earthworms, as falling into the water below will mean an untimely death. Alongside the standard deathmatches, Worms Armageddon also features a series of training missions and a single-player campaign.

Motor Mash is a top-down cartoon racer from Eutechnyx that was originally released in 1997 for PlayStation.

Choose from a selection of different cars and drivers before racing against opponents over six worlds, each with eight courses. The tricky courses span different environments, from the Amazon and Arctic, to the Wild West and a bustling city. The game features different modes to play, including single race, league and beat-the-clock.

Whether leading your worms to victory, or racing around an ice-covered track, Antstream players will be able to use the cloud system to pause and resume the action whenever they choose. Newly added titles are coming to the service each and every week, ensuring there is always something new to discover in Antstream's massive library.

“Top-down racing is always a popular genre for players to burn off some energy, and who doesn’t like Worms?. Celebrating the launch of Antstream on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 by adding two exciting PS1 titles seems like the way to go, and both of these titles are great fun to play, so will be welcomed by Antstream subscribers.” - Steve Cottam, CEO of Antstream.

Antstream Arcade is the world's largest official library of retro games to stream, with more than 1300 titles available to play on multiple devices, including PC, mobile, Samsung TV, Linux, Xbox and soon, PlayStation. With local co-op, weekly tournaments, hundreds of challenges and a global leaderboard to climb, there are plenty of new ways to play classic games, and Antstream's cloud system instantly saves game progress so players can put down and pick up games at any time.

Antstream Arcade is available for £39.99, giving the player unrestricted access to all 1300+ games and all tournaments, challenges and more for an entire year. For a limited time, players can also purchase the lifetime subscription for a one-off payment of £99.99.
