by Joe Negron (constant23@aol.com)
-CHAPTER 1-

*They will give you a bouquet of flowers.
--Item List

Mithril
*Walk to the right side of town to begin the first battle.
BATTLE 1: In Saraband City

15 Masked Monk Leader (Herb) (BOSS)
*More parts of the town and items are now accessible.
--Item List

*Head to bridge for next battle.
BATTLE 2: Bridge From Saraband City
11 Poisonous Bat (Antidote Herb)
14 Masked Monk (Herb)
38 Masked Mage (Antidote Herb) (Blast LV1) (BOSS)
-Heiward joins the force (Male Green Archer)
*If you talk to Heiward during the fight, he'll join you immediately. If not, he'll join you when the
battle is over.
*Make sure to break all barrels so that the other side of the dock is accessible later.
*If you are going to be playing Scenario 2, be aware that letting Garosh (blue archer) live will
allow him to join Medion's team. However, if you let him die, then Jade (male tank gunner) will
join Medion instead.
BALSAMO TOWN
*Immediately go upstairs at the Inn. They'll send you outside, then go upstairs again. At the end
of the hallway there is a secret passageway that will lead to a hidden room where Bernard is being
held captive. If you untie him, he won't join you, but he'll be accessible in Scenario 2.
--Item List
Elixir (inside barrel next to Bernard in hidden room)
Map #1 (inside chest in house with backyard tunnel)
Herb (inside barrel in house with backyard tunnel)

*Go into house with the crow's nest on top. You'll find another party member.
-Oblite joins the force (Male Dwarf Warrior)
*Go inside the house with the fenced in backyard. Talk to the man and he'll let you through.

RAILROAD TOWN

Agility Ring (hidden in rock between lower track and switch-track)
*To save all five refugees, you must use Dantares to get to the switch between the tracks on his
third turn. Otherwise, it is too late and they will all die. Usually the best way to do it is to have
him go between the tracks, then walk along (up against) the train at the top. This way the enemies
will see him and attack him, leaving the refugees alive.
-Chivalry joins the force (Female Centaur Knight)
INSIDE THE TRAIN
--Item List

*Talk to Grace for next battle.
*At this point there is a way to get a hidden character. To do this, DO NOT kill ANY zombies.
Just let Khan walk up to them and use his orb. They'll be sent back to the ground. It's ok to kill
the mage and the bats and the skeletons, but leave the zombies. You won't actually get the hidden
character for doing this until after the next battle.
-Khan joins the force (Male Healer)
--Item List

into the cave in Scenario 2, a room full of items is accessible. I have yet to confirm this myself.
REPUBLIC TOWN

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is the bouquet of flowers used for?
A: No use found yet.
Q: How can I get Garosh, the blue archer in the second battle, to join me?
A: You can't. He joins the leader of Scenario 2.
Q: How do I get Bernard to join me? I untied him but he just runs away.
A: You can't. Like the Garosh, he is meant for another Scenario.
Q: What are the brown maps good for?
A: The maps are required before you are allowed in any tombs. There is one map in each chapter,
and a different map is needed for each tomb.
Q: Hey, how do unlock these chests?
A: You don't. You have to let the thieves pick the locks then attack them to extract the items.
Q: The thief is carrying three important items and I'm afraid if I attack him, I'll kill him and only
get one of the items. What do I do?
A: Have your weakest member go after the thieves if possible. This way, every time you attack
him, he'll drop a different item and you won't have to worry about killing him and ending the
fight.
Q: Why can't I get back inside the tomb?
A: If the tomb is opened up, you must loot the place then and there. If you go back to town and
save the game, when you return, the tomb will be sealed.
Q: What's the deal with that blue bird who's stealing some of my items?
A: The blue bird is Elder's brother, Zero from Scenario 2. He has to borrow Khan's orb at one
point in the game to fight the Kraken. He brings it back in Chapter 5.
Q: Pen just sucks. Why would I want to use him in battle?
A: Actually, if you take Pen into battle 28, you can build him up by fighting the weak skeletons.
He might need some help, but he will get very strong if you take care of him. He'll be a valuable
asset in the last battle, when you'll need all the help you can get. Give him the skull ring, which
can be used as an item to cast Bolt. This way he can damage foes easily even when he is weak.
Q: Why can't I get to the other side of this town? I can see it, but they won't let me through.
A: The other side of the town is under construction. It's not accessible until Scenario 2.
Q: Fear gave me this key, but I can't find any use for it. Any ideas?
A: It's useful for saving Rogan in Scenario 2. If you let Zero take the key, he will bring it to
Scenario 2.
Q: Why does Pen jump out of a big rockpile in the rebel town?
A: Because he's crazy.
Q: I saw this code on Secrets of the Sages which is supposed to let you get a bonus character.
The code is this: At the title screen, press Y, A, B, B, A, Down, A, B, B, A, Down, Up then press
and hold start until you hear a sound. I tried it for hours and still no luck. Is this a fake?
A: Well, I've talked to several people who all say that the code isn't real. First of all, if you look
at it, the code is YABBA-DABBA-DU, and I seriously doubt that Fred Flintstone is a hidden
character. THE CODE IS A FAKE.
Q: Can I promote my characters more than once?
A: No.
Q: Is there any reason NOT to promote my characters?
A: No.
Q: Are these super moves my characters are doing just random?
A: It appears so, however, the more supers each character learns and the higher their level, the
more frequent they seem to be.
Q: Is there more than one ending to this game?
A: No.
Q: I don't understand how these Scenarios are "linked" if they are separate games on separate
discs. Can you please explain?
A: The discs are "linked" through saved games. Meaning if you complete Scenario 1, then save
your game, you will have a save on your Saturn that says "COMPLETE". Now, if you want to
play Scenario 2, there are two ways to do this. The first is simple: just buy Scenario 2 and play it.
The second way: when you start your game in Scenario 2, it will ask you if you want to use a
saved game from Scenario 1. Say YES and then it will let you choose your "COMPLETE" save
to begin a new game.
Q: So what's the difference if I just play Scenario 2 by itself or if I use a save from Scenario 1?
A: There are MANY differences. All the choices you make, the characters you let live or die, the
people that join you, the questions you answer, the items you pick up - ALL of this can
potentially effect your game in Scenario 2. There are 5 major points in the game where decisions
you make can effect the next scenario. These 5 are as follows:
1. During Battle 2 you can:
a. Talk to Garosh and let him live.
b. Don't talk to Garosh and let him die.
Choosing "a" will cause him to join the force in Scenario 2.
Choosing "b" will cause a guy in a tank to join you instead (in Scenario 2).
2. In Balsamo town you can:
a. Untie Bernard from his prison in the secret room.
b. Leave him there to rot.
Choosing "a" will make him an accessible character in the thieve's town in Scenario 2.
Choose "b" and he gets fed to the fishes.
3. During Battle 18 you can:
a. Kill the dragon.
b. Let the dragon live and just exit the cave.
Choosing "a" will cause a cave-in when Medion explores the cave in Scenario 2, blocking him
from a room full of items.
Choosing "b" will supposedly (I've heard this from numerous sources, though I have yet to try it)
leave the room in Scenario 2 open for exploration.
4. During Battle 20 you can:
a. Get the key from Fear and let Zero keep it.
b. Don't get the key from Fear.
Choosing "a" will allow you to rescue Rogan on the ship in Scenario 2.
Choose "b" and you'll have no key, and no Rogan (obviously).
5. During Battle 27 you can:
a. Use Khan's orb on Spirited and let her live.
b. Kill Spirited.
The results of this are unknown, but it makes sense to me that saving her might allow her to join
Julian's team in Scenario 3.
Q: What am I carrying around all these rocks for?
A: The rocks are mithril, and they are used to make powerful weapons. Take them to a
blacksmith and for a fee, he'll make them into good stuff. The larger chunks can be made into
weapons, while the smaller pieces can be formed into rings and bracelets.
Q: What is this black cube for?
A: It's a dark cube. Like mithril, it can be used to make weapons, but anything made with a dark
cube will be cursed and unable to be used properly as a weapon in battle. You can, however, USE
some of the dark items in battle instead of equipping them, just like a spell. Keep in mind that
some items used in battle have a tendency to break.
Q: What is the hero's name?
A: Sinbios.
Q: What is the hero's name in Scenario 2?
A: Medion.
Q: What is the hero's name in Scenario 3?
A: Julian.
Q: Save ALL FIVE refugees before they get killed? You've got to be kidding!
A: Believe me, this is possible. But even if you let all of them die, you can still win the fight. Just
don't expect them to be there in Scenario 2.
Q: How can I keep Julian from getting thrown into the waterfall?
A: You can't. It's his destiny, but not to fear, as he is in Scenario 2 and has the honor of being the
leader of Scenario 3.
Q: How can I stop Spirited from destroying the temple?
A: How can you stop an avalanche?
Q: Why don't I (the leader of the shining force) ever say anything?
A: Laryngitis? If you play Scenario 2, you will get to see Sinbios talk a whole lot.
Q: What are the apron and the purple underwear good for?
A: Playing dress-up. Seriously, even though they won't appear to change your stats, several
people have told me that these items do indeed help.
Q: When does (insert character name here) get (insert spell name here) spell?
A: Here is a list of who gets which spell and when. "P" indicates promoted.
