GAME MODES:
At the title screen, there are four modes of gameplay from which to choose.
1) 1 Player (Story) mode
2) VS. mode
3) Practice mode
4) Options
1) In 1 Player mode, you can only choose among the Inner Senshi to fight
against all the other computer-controlled Senshi.
2) VS. mode allows you to fight against another player or against
user-selectable computer-controlled opponents in a stage of the
user's choice.
3) Practice mode allows you to choose one playable character and another
"dummy" character to practice all the selected character's moves. The
move listing can be accessed by pressing the START button during
the untimed round. Press SELECT to return to the character-select screen.

* In 1 Player (story) mode, the player has the option to enable "Auto"
mode (see "Player Select" section). The L1, L2, R1, and R2 buttons
are used in combination with the various attack buttons to perform
the special moves.
Each of the Inner Senshi have 3 "normal" special attacks as well as
a "MAX!" special move (see "Basic Player Movement" section). The
configuration description assigns to each of the 3 special attacks
the letters 'A,' 'B,' and 'C' in that order. The buttons corresponding
to the letter-designated moves are as follows:
L1 - A
L2 - B
R1 - C
To perform any of the "lettered" moves, simply press the corresponding
button in combination with ANY of the regular attack buttons. Using a
strong attack button (punch or kick) simulates the use of the
corresponding strong attack button in "Manual" mode.
For example, to perform Super Sailor Moon's Moon Spiral Heart Attack in
"Auto" mode, you need only press L2+Weak Punch or L2+Weak Kick to
simulate the Half-Circle-Back+Weak Kick motion, which is required in
"Manual" mode.
To perform the "MAX!" special move, the R2 button is used. Unlike
performing "normal" special moves, you are restricted to using the
Strong Punch and Strong Kick attack buttons. In essence, the button
combinations used are: R2+Strong Punch or R2+Strong Kick.

PLAYER SELECT:
In 1 Player (story) mode you are allowed to choose from the Inner Senshi.
Once you choose a player, you are prompted with two colored choices.
The green-colored choice (default) is "Manual" mode as explained in the
"Game Modes" section. The red-colored choice on the right enables "Auto"
mode. Note that if "Auto" mode is selected, the previously required
joystick movements can no longer be used to perform special attacks.
Only in VS. mode can all 10 Sailor Senshi be accessed. The names of the
characters are (from left to right):
Before the initial match begins in 1 Player (story) mode, the user is
granted "Ability Points," the total number of which is dependent upon
the difficulty level selected in the corresponding option menu, to
allocate among 8 character attributes.
These attributes are as follows:
1) (Strength of) Punch
2) (Strength of) Kick
3) Throwing
4) Defense
5) (Increase) Life Meter - denoted by the yellow bar
adjacent to the timer
6) "Kawaii" or Cuteness - results in player constantly
posing/taunting during round
7) Special Attacks
8) MAX! Special Attacks
Once the user confirms his/her particular distribution of points, the
ability customize system can no longer be accessed for the duration of the
game. It can be noted that each computer opponent has her own particular
distribution of points, so that an advantage is not given to the player.
