------------------------------------------------------
Version 1.0 -Just started out. Basic espers list and
spells.

------------------------------------------------------

-These Espers are listed by how they appear in the manual.
I've listed spells, speed, level up bonuses, where to get,
and my recommendations.

---------------------------
Starlet:

Cure - x25
Cure 2 - x16
Regen - x20
Remedy - x20

Level up bonus: Power +2.

I've found Starlet to be a very useful
Esper, because of quick learning of the
more basic Cure spells.

You find Starlet after beating Chadarnook
in Jidoor in the World of Ruin.
---------------------------

---------------------------
Kirin:

Cure - x5
Cure 2 - x1
Regen - x3
Antdot - x4
Scan - x5

Level up bonus: Nothing.

Kirin is a pretty good Esper to have on
hand during the very early parts of the
game, as you'll need these basic Cure
spells easy, but once you get the more
advanced healing espers, Kirin isn't
very useful.

You find Kirin as one of the first 4
Espers, in Zozo.
---------------------------

---------------------------
Phoenix:

Life - x10
Life 2 - x2
Life 3 - x1
Cure 3 - x2
Fire 3 - x3

Level up bonus: Nothing.

Phoenix is a VERY useful esper. It's the
only Esper that teachers Life 3, and it
teaches the other Life spells to have on
hand, too. Cure 3 and Fire 3 are also
here, also very great spells to have.

You find Phoenix after completing the
Phoenix Cave in the World of Ruin.
---------------------------

---------------------------
Unicorn:

Cure 2 - x4
Remedy - x3
Dispel - x2
Safe - x1
Shell - x1

Level up bonus: Nothing.

Unicorn is a basic esper. Cure 2 is taught
fairly quickly, but Safe and Shell are the
only other fairly good spells, and they
aren't taught fast. Not an overlly great
esper.

You find Unicorn at the end of the Magitek
Factory in the World of Balance.
---------------------------

---------------------------
Palidor:

Haste - x20
Slow - x20
Haste 2 - x2
Slow 2 - x2
Float - x5

Level up bonus: Nothing.

I really like this esper. Haste 2 and Slow
2 are both really great spells, and they're
learned fairly quickly. Great affects magic
esper.

You find Palidor on the beach of the Solitary
Island after returning in the Airship in the
World of Ruin.
---------------------------

---------------------------
Sraphim:

Life - x5
Cure 2 - x8
Cure - x20
Regen - x10
Remedy - x4

Level up bonus: Nothing.

Really cool Esper. Some great Cure spells are
learned fairly quickly, and using the Esper
works just as well, too.

You can buy Sraphim from a man walking around
in the trees at the east end of Tzen in either
world.
---------------------------

---------------------------
Ifrit:

Fire - x10
Fire 2 - x5
Drain - x1

Level up bonus: Power +1.

Fairly cool Esper for the time you get him.
Two Fire spells are learned pretty quickly,
and Drain can only be learned from Ifrit.

You get Ifrit in the pit you fall in in the
Magitek Research Facility. (After Cefca
goes off, go off the conveyor belt).
---------------------------

---------------------------
Shiva:

Ice - x10
Ice 2 - x5
Rasp - x4
Osmose - x4
Cure - x3

Level up bonus: Nothing.

Also a fairly good esper. I find Osmose to
be incredibly useful throughout the game,
as you gain magic points from enemies
easily.

You also find Shiva in the pit at the Magitek
Reasearch Facility.
---------------------------

---------------------------
Odin:

Meteor - x1

Level up bonus: Agility +1.

You should only have Odin for a very short
time in the World of Ruin, and it really
isn't useful then, because when you get
Crusader, you can also learn Meteor.

You find Odin in the Ancient Castle, before
changing the Magicite to Raiden.
---------------------------

---------------------------
Maduin:

Fire 2 - x3
Ice 2 - x3
Bolt 2 - x3

Level up bonus: Magic Power +1.

Really useful. I like to have this Esper
on hand a relatively non-magic user, because
they can easily learn the second level
elemental spells quickly and easily. Using
the Esper is pretty powerful, too.

You get Maduin at the end of the Magitek
Research Facility in the World of Balance.
---------------------------

---------------------------
Raiden:

Quick - x1

Level up bonus: Power +2.

Quick is really an awesome spell, but too
bad it takes 99 MP to cast. You'll get this
after changing Odin to Raiden in the Ancient
Castle. Quick can only be learned from
Raiden.

You find this esper by changing Odin into
Raiden in the Ancient Castle in the World of
Ruin from the Queen's tear.
---------------------------

---------------------------
Bismark:

Fire - x20
Ice - x20
Bolt - x20
Life - x2

Level up bonus: Power +2.

Not all that special. Basic Magics are easily
learned, though.

You find Bismark at the end of the Magitek
Research Facility in the World of Balance.
---------------------------

---------------------------
Crusader:

Merton - x1
Meteor - x10

Level up bonus: MP + 50%.

Very, very awesome Esper. Meteor, a very good
offensive spell, is learned very quickly, and
Merton is totally devestating if you have
Fire shields on, as it heals you, and hurts
your enemy hugely.

You find Crusader after beating all 8 dragons
in the World of Ruin.
---------------------------

---------------------------
Ramuh:

Bolt - x10
Bolt 2 - x2
Poison - x5

Pretty cool. Give this to Mash early on. Poison
and Bolt 2 are pretty useful throughout the
game.

You find Ramuh as one of the first 4 Espers, on
top of the Tower in Zozo.
---------------------------

---------------------------
Bahamut:

Flare - x2

Level up bonus: HP + 50%.

This is one of the greatest espers in the
game. Not only does it teach Flare, and
awesome spell fairly quickly, but it also
has the greatest level up bonus in the game,
in my opinion.

You find Bahamut after beating Doom Gaze in the
airship in the World of Ruin.
---------------------------

---------------------------
Shoat:

Bio - x8
Break - x5
Doom - x2

Level up bonus: HP + 10%.

Fairly cool esper. Bio and Doom are both
really useful spells. Pretty average.
---------------------------

---------------------------
Tritoch:

Fire 3 - x1
Ice 3 - x1
Bolt 3 - x1

Level up bonus: Magic Power +2.

This is really awesome. All of the third
level elemental spells, even though
they're learned slowly, Ice 3 and Bolt 3
can't be learned by any other esper.
---------------------------

---------------------------
Alexandr:

Pearl - x2
Shell - x10
Safe - x10
Dispel - x10
Remedy - x15

Level up bonus: Nothing.

Alexandr is a really cool Esper. Not only
is he the only esper that can teach Pearl,
but using him in Battle is really useful,
and a bunch of support spells are learned
quickly.

You find Alexandr after beating Cayenne's
dream in Doma Castle in the World of Ruin.
---------------------------

---------------------------
ZoneSeek:

Rasp - x20
Osmose - x15
Shell - x5

Level up bonus: Magic Power +2.

ZoneSeek really doesn't carry many useful
spells, but make sure to get it anyway.

To get ZoneSeek, you have to bid for it in
Jidoor's Auction House in either world.
---------------------------

---------------------------
Ragnarok:

Ultima - x1

Level up bonus: Nothing.

I think this is the most useful esper in
the game. Ultima is, in my opinion, the
best offensive spell. Also, using Ragnarok
in battle will turn an enemy into an item,
which can get you some very rare items on
certain enemies.

You find Ragnarok by picking the locks in
Narshe in the world of Ruin by Locke after
you get him. You must choose to take the
"stone" from the man, and not the sword.
---------------------------

---------------------------
Golem:

Safe - x5
Stop - x5
Cure 2 - x5

Level up bonus: Nothing.

Not all that useful. All of these spells
can be learned from other espers, and it
really isn't all that useful to have.

You find Golem by bidding for it at Jidoor's
Auction House in either world.
---------------------------

---------------------------
Terrato:

Quake - x3
Quartr - x1
W Wind - x1

Level up bonus: HP + 30%.

This is a very useful esper, in that it
teaches you 3 spells that you can't get
elsewhere.

You find Terrato in the mines behind Narshe
in a carving, right as you fight Umaro.
---------------------------

---------------------------
Stray:

Muddle - x7
Imp - x5
Float - x2

Level up bonus: Magic Power +1.

Not a bad esper, but I haven't found these
spells to be very useful.

You can find Stray as one of the first 4
Espers you receive on top of the tower in
Zozo in the World of Balance.
---------------------------

---------------------------
Carbunkl:

Rflect - x5
Haste - x3
Shell - x2
Safe - x2
Warp - x2

Level up bonus: Nothing.

Although this esper teaches a few useful
spells, I don't recommend equipping it as
a top priority.

You can find Carbunkl at the end of the
Magitek Research Facility in the World of
Balance.
---------------------------

---------------------------
Fenrir:

Warp - x10
X-Zone - x5
Stop - x3

Level up bonus: MP + 30%.

This is the only esper that teaches X-Zone,
which is a pretty useful spell that kills
all enemies right away if it hits. Very
useful.

You can find Fenrir after beating Phunbaba
in Mobliz in the World of Ruin.
---------------------------

---------------------------
Phantom:

Bserk - x3
Vanish - x3
Demi - x5

Level up bonus: MP + 10%.

All 3 of these spells can't be learned from
any other esper, so it's pretty useful. You
learn these spells quickly, too.

You can find Phantom at the end of the Magitek
Research Facility in the World of Balance.
---------------------------

---------------------------
Siren:

Sleep - x10
Mute - x8
Slow - x7
Fire - x6

Level up bonus: HP + 10%.

These spells aren't useful, mostly, but you
learn them at a fast pace.

You find Siren as one of the first 4 espers
on top of the tower in Zozo in the World of
Balance.
