Introduction
XXXXXXXXXXXXXX
I'll get straight to it: this is a collection of guitar tablature for Guitar
Freaks. Have you ever picked up this game, loved it, and said, "wow, I wish
playing these songs was that easy on the real guitar"? Well, it will be more
difficult, but now you can be a rock star just like the ones in the arcade!
If you play guitar(if you don't, you won't find anything useful in here), you're
probably familiar with tablature. It's like easy-to-read sheet music
specifically for the guitar; go to www.olga.net for more information.
As with most tablature, I won't ramble on too much. Right now, I have tabbed
out the songs Cutie Pie, Chicago Blue, Fire, and part of Cool Joe. I will tab
out more in the future as I receive requests. E-mail me at slodeth@iname.com to
make requests, corrections, or anything else. Put "Guitar Freaks" in the
subject to ensure a reply.
This is a fun, simple song in the game, but the solo is a bit more complicated
in real life. It's no Jimi solo, or even a Silverchair solo, but it uses a few
techniques that you might not be used to. Play it slow first, and you'll catch
on quickly. Use a nice, clean sound for this song.
Chorus Riff:
play this top line to give the effect of the other chords
E|----9---9-----10--10---------------12--12-----10--10----|
B|---10--10-----10--10---------------10--10-----10--10----|
G|--------------------------------------------------------|
D|--------------------------------------------------------|
A|--------------------------------------------------------|
E|--------------------------------------------------------|
The last measure of the solo goes directly into the chorus riff. The song
does one chorus, one verse, one chorus, one verse, then ends with two choruses.
solo part
E|----------9-------|----------12~-----|------------9------|---18b19~----------|
B|----------8-------|------------------|------------8------|-------------------|
G|------------------|------------------|-------------------|------------0--0--2|
D|------------------|------------------|-------------------|-------------------|
A|------------------|------------------|-------------------|-------------------|
E|------------------|------------------|-------------------|-------------------|
The rest is the same as written besides the first two lines, except one octave
up. You may need to transpose some of it up to the higher strings to make it
easier.
This is a pretty short, intense song. It is an 80's metal song at heart,
between the glorious solos and the deep speed riffs. Use some distortion with
strong mids.
E|--5---4---11b12--------| |--------------------------|
