2. Review
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Here is my review of the game.
*Introduction*
NBA Live '98 came out November 15 1997. Its graphics and game play surpasses
that of all previous basketball games. The three-point shootout is a great new
feature. You can take any of the 29 NBA teams and take them all the way to the
NBA Finals. NBA Live '98 is multi-tap adaptable and can be played with one to
eight players. NBA Live also requires 1-5 blocks of memory to save your
settings, rosters, or season.
*Game play*
NBA Live '98 offers great in depth game play with a variety of offensive moves.
The in game play is awesome. Take your opponent to the hole with a crossover or
put a spin move on him. You can throw alley-oops; dribble between the legs, and
even control your own dunks. You can also play an NBA season complete with the
playoffs. The three-point shootout mode is new to basketball games. Take two to
eight players in a three-point contest. Even on the hardest difficulty level
you can easily defeat the computer. The only real challenge is when you play a
human controlled opponent. NBA Live '98 allows you to create your own team from
scratch and take them through a whole season. With play-by-play analyst with
Verne Lundquist it makes NBA Live '98 one of the funnest games to play.
Game play rating: 10
*Graphics and Sound*
NBA Live '98 offers good graphics but the graphics are not as good as any game
today. Every player in the game was cyber-modeled. The basketball courts are in
amazing detail. Verne Lindquist provides the in-game play-by-play which is new
to basketball games and the at the menu screens there is crystal clear
background music.
Graphic and Sound Rating: 7
*Replay*
I would replay an entire season about two or three times. The reason being a
whole season can last up to 82 games. Now that's a lot of games to be playing.
It is definitely worth playing at least twice.
*Buy or Rent*
NBA Live '98 is definitely worth buying. If you don't want to fork over about
$40 for the newest basketball game get NBA Live '98. For the price it is
definitely worth it.
*Overall*
Overall NBA Live '98 is one of the best basketball games out their today and
its also cheaper than most. I gave NBA Live '98 a rating of 9. I gave it a 9
just because the graphics weren't as good as I thought they would be. Thank you
for reading my NBA Live '98 review. Buy the game and enjoy.
