Review for Crusaders Of Might and Magic: Overall Score: 9.5
I really can say this game is very cool and read some other sites that didn't
give this game a very decent rating. I've only played the first 4 quests of this
game, and I really like it. I admit, the sound is a little choppy sometimes, and
you get occasional small freeze-ups, but other than that I'm really enjoying
this game. There is some bad clipping here and there also, but not as bad as
some previous 3rd person perspective games. The weapons are very cool looking,
and there is a wide assortment of different spells, armor, items and weapons to
have you wrapped up in this game for quite some time. The first person
perspective button is very responsive and gives you great control of what you
can see in the gaming environment. The statistics charts and tables, are very
well done, and give you a good overview of where your character currently
stands.
The A-I is done well too, like when you cast a spell and they move out of your
way. Some of the enemies even on easy are very agile, and move around the way
monsters would most likely move if they existed. This game is a mixed bag of
Medievil and Legacy Of Kain, Soul Reaver. The graphics are some of the best I've
seen for a console 3-D platform game. I commend 3do for making such an inriguing
game and look forward to future titles by them. This game, is another great
example, of what third person perspective games should be like, for future
console systems no matter how good the system is.

[-Section 11-]
[-Walkthrough Section-]
[-Escape-]
[-Quest 1, Regain Your Freedom From The Catacombs and dungeons through the
enemy-held stronghold-]
Use your magic button or triangle to kill the very first undead creature and
then listen to the blue image in the wall. After killing the first creature take
the Mace, Mana and the 9 gold. Also get the fire Gem.
Turn right now and jump up the wooden cart on the right and take some more
throwing axes. Turn around now and take your first right into the next cell. Run
to the center of the room where the dead guy is and take 3 gold and a healing
potion. Turn left after taking from the corpse and there is a metal looking box
here. Push it to where the indention in the wall is. Jump up it and take 2
healing potions up here. Leave this cell now and head out to the hallway where
you took the axes off the wooden cart and enter these larger doors. Once you
enter the large doors head left to another dead body with a spiked shield and 2
more healing potions.
Equip the spiked shield the way the tutorial says and now you have your first
shield in the game. Run back now right and around the corner avoiding the trap
on the ground. Enter the doors up here now and then turn right when through the
doors and enter this cell. Kill the beast and then collect 2 healing potions and
some gold. There is a dead body to the right here too so collect his items also.
Turn around now and leave the cell and ahead and to the left is a save point.
Save if you'd like to, otherwise head left and enter another doorway to another
hallway. Walk ahead and if you look left there is some metal boxes stacked high.
Jump to the highest box and collect some healing potions.
Jump back down now and head up straight and the image thing will try and advise
you on distance attacks. Kill the 2 Fresh Shamblers and collect some gold and
fire gem. You'll see some barrels up here so don't hit them cause they'll hurt
you. Run up the next 2 hallways and kill the Fresh Shambler up here. Get to
where you can see a lightning bolt in the ground and run up and quickly take
this shield and then run away before the bolt can hit you. Turn around now and
kill the Fresh Shambler that approaches you from behind and you'll get a new
Gem.
Head right around the next hall and look ahead, You'll see 2 fresh shamblers
behind some boxes and barrels so stop. Use your magic once you have one of them
in sight and this makes short work out of hacking them to death instead. After
defeating these creatures go and take their items and then head up the hallway.
Meet with Necros which is the deadly looking statue in the next room after
getting the new spell. He will try and zap you with lightning bolts so just run
right and avoid him.
Once you go right and up the hall some more Fresh Shamblers meet you so take
care of them. Run into this next room and head right avoiding hitting the
barrels and back here is a save point to your left so save if you like. Turn
around now and go straight onto an elevator which takes you to a room with
barrels and some monsters on your left. Kill them and then collect your gold.
Turn around now and take another elevator up and 2 more monsters are up here so
kill them and take their stuff. Once you kill the monsters go to your right and
enter this hallway. Enter another room now with blood on the floor and to the
back left is a stairway and a cell door you can't enter. Go up the stairs and
kill the monster here.
Take stuff and then run up the stairs killing another monster. Once up these
stairs you have 2 more monsters to kill off, be careful as the taller one throws
axes at you. Kill them and collect stuff. Back here is also 3 metal boxes and
behind it some more throwing axes. Push directly on the box to your left and
then move with it left and do the same with the middle box and now you can get
the throwing axes. Turn around now and near the stairs before going down them to
the right is another save point so save if you like. After saving turn around
and go left at the small fork and when you get to the end pathway there is a
large drop. Fall here and you'll battle a Newly Recorporated Sentry and get a
new weapon that being the exploding Gem.
Run up this next hallway now and kill the next monster and take his items. As
soon as you enter through the next doors, immediately turn right and do battle
with another monster and avoid the star on the floor. Go now through 2 more sets
of doors to another pathway that looked the same as when you fought the Newly
Incorporated Sentry. Fight the tall creature here and you might go up a level
depending on the fact that you've killed all monsters I've mentioned so far.
There is some metal boxes on a wall to the right so first take the throwing axes
and other items and then hop up the wall and then onto the next metal box. Jump
right onto the green path and then again to the brown path around the mountain.
The image talks again and then when she's gone just keep heading up the path.
Head up the path killing 2 beasts and collecting gold and axes. Keep following
the path and you'll see another tall beast standing on the path so kill it and
collect items. Head up the path and the first quest ends and another begins.
Listen to the English guard and then look at your new quest if you like.

[-Section 12-]
[-Meet Celestia-]
[-Quest 2, Enter The Citadel and Locate The Throne Room To Talk To Lady Archon,
Celestia-]
[-Warning, Don't even think of hitting the guards here cause they are extremely
high in levels and hard to beat. I did find it rather comical that when you go
further into the level running from the first guard another approaches. If
either of the 2 hit one another they start fighting each other for a brief
time.-]
Listen to the guard that sounds like Ozzy Osbourne and then head up the main
path not hitting any guards. Get to the part with a fire burning and another
guard and the guard won't have anything to do with you. Go right up the next
path up here and follow it all the way around to the front of the castle where 3
guards are standing and before entering walk right. When you see the guard on
the right he'll say don't go up that way so go left when you can and you'll have
a save point. Save if you like and then turn back around and enter the castle
now.
Walk down the hall and get on the descending elevator and when you get to the
top walk up the oddly shaped path. You'll see a cut-scene with a girl named
Aerrin who will take you to the top where the fortress is. When you get to the
top Aerrin will say goodbye so get off and then walk up the path. Run into the
octagonal room and when you run in here take a right after listening to the
image. Enter the next room and near the stairwell is a save spot you can save
the game at if you choose. Go up the stairs/ramp and keep going up all the way
to the top. When you get to the top there is a guard here so walk up to him and
he'll ask you a favor.
Enter the doorway he's guarding now and keep going straight up the path. When
you get into a room with a guard take a left and now walk up the path with the
red carpeting. When you reach the room with Celistia you can either speak with
her and complete this quest or read the 4 plaques in the room.
_______________________________________________________________________
[-Section 13-]
[-King Aiden-]
[-Quest 3: Take the Airship to Duskwood and find the passage to Corantha.
Contact King Aiden Stoneheart and ask him to send troops to Stronghold.-]
Turn around now and head back down the path to the room with the guard, right
where the red carpeting begins going up and ends going down. Head down this path
and take your first left into a small room with a save point in it and save if
you choose. Run to the next octagonal room and take your first right when you
get the chance. Head over the bridge and when you see a wooden looking wall and
a portal to the left ignore it you can't enter here yet. Go right and you'll
find the Quartermaster and she'll give you better equipment so equip all these.
You'll get a longsword, Scalemail and a Kite Shield. Turn back around now and
exit the shop and take a left and follow the stone path up to the next portal
room and then go left.
Run across the bridge and then into another octagonal room with 2 guards and
some small light posts. Take a right here and go down the next hallway. Run back
down to the room where you first entered and down the blue ramp/staircase and
take a left and save if you choose. Turn back around and take your first left
into the doorway here. This way will take you to where Jonathan is from the
guard from earlier, but you can skip this part if you like and just head onto the
pad where Aerrin is. Enter the doorway and go down the rustic looking hallway to
an open room with some castle looking walls. This room has some crates and
barrels and 2 cannons in it. Go straight up to where the next doorway is and
Jonathan is back here and he reluctantly hands you the 200 gold he owes his
brother. Go back to the top now and give the guard back his gold.
He'll give you a fire gem as a sign of you speaking with him so now go back to
where you got the long sword and other stuff at the store. The brother is to the
left guarding the portal here. Listen to the conversation and he gives you his
battle-axe. Head back now to where Aerrin is and get back on the elevator deal.
Note: You can buy the warhammer in the store which would give you another weapon
but it fills your hands and you can't carry anymore. To buy something press the
look or aim button and when on the desired item it lists the name and asking
price. If you want to buy the item press the square button and it goes into your
inventory. When you're done shopping if you chose to get any other extra items
then head to Aerrin and take the elevator to the forest.
Fall off the rock and go up the path where the giant mushrooms are at. Go a far
ways down until you see a landmark lightpost and an opening to the left so stray
the left path for now and just go straight. Keep going along the main path until
you reach an area that veers right with 2 mushrooms on either side. Go right and
enter this big cavey looking entrance. Once through the cave automatically
happens, you'll be near a bridge with large lit torches, so cross it. A battle
is ahead and a guy dies. It'd be much better to run away and head inside the
castle.
Get to a room with some Stone Golems and when they come alive just run away.
Keep going straight to a room with some exploding traps shooting across the
room. Keep going down the hall and help out the shop owner by killing off the
beasts that are attacking him and he gives you some things. Buy more things if
you like and then head out of this area.
If you didn't do it yet equip the ice claw and attach it to your weapon and
you'll have an easier time with this area. Leave this area by going up the path
and when you get to the trap room take a right up this next area. Enter the 2
sets of doors here and keep going straight along the path. There is 3 dwarven
dudes up here you'll just want to jump over and head up the path. Turn right
when you see an opening and save here. Go back to where the dwarves were and
keep running back and fourth and a dwarf with an ice weapon will start fighting
them. Let him kill off 2 dwarves and take their gold.
Enter the door when it swings open which takes a few moments. Enter here and go
along the hallway to the throne room and speak with the kings son, Dain. This
ends this quest and another is before you.
_______________________________________________________________________
[-Section 14-]
[-The Rebellion-]
[-Quest 4: Find the trove of weapons that the rebels have stored in the mines
below, destroy it, and return to Prince Dain.-]
Turn around now from the Kings querters and head down the hallway and take your
first right at the hallway. Follow this hall down to where some guy is fighting
a monster and help him out and then take the monsters stuff. Run now away from
the horde of monsters chasing you, and just go through the halls, until you get
to 2 doorways, and the game will load the next section. Speak with the dwarven
guard and then drop off the bridge to the platform. Now run and jump to the
doorway below and enter this small cave. Go through the doors and up the hall to
the save point by staying straight on the path. Turn around now and take your
first right into the next set of doors. Now you'll have some traps up here so
just time them right and you'll make it through just fine.
What I did was for the first set of hammers I ran to the left part of the wall
just after getting past the first set. Next I ran to the right wall after going
to the middle to avoid the second set and then ran straight through without
stopping and through the door for the last set. Run up the hall and you'll see
some boxes full of coal and a wooden barrier. Behind the left box closest to the
barrier is 100 gold so just push the right box straight on. This moves the box
right and now you can squeeze through and take the 100 gold. Jump over the boxes
and barrier and keep going up the path. When you reach a large open area in the
mine a big ass drill truck plows through a wall disabling access a certain way.
Head up the steep path now and kill the 2 monsters ahead and take their gold and
exploding stars. Once you go up the next hallway into the room go left and enter
this room. Equip the throwing axes and kill the 2 Zealots on the right and left.
The best way to hit the zealots is to wait till they start throwing their weapon
and throw yours and then move. The throwing of their weapon forces them to stay
still and you easily get in a free blow. Collect their gems and gold and then Go
around to the left side of this room. The best all around method for killing
these guys is to target them with the target button and hack them with your
weapon.
Go up the elevator now and kill the 2 zealots in this area and then go right to
the next hallway leading up. Either kill the 3-4 zealots here or just run and
you'll eventually be in a room with an anvil. A prisoner starts speaking to you
so hit the switch to set him free. Go left and around the next hallway on the
right is a switch so hit it with your weapon to set the shopkeeper free. Go up
the hall and kill the 2 guards up here and enter the room with the sliding cage.
If you're low on magic just lure the guy here to near the barrels and he'll
throw a exploding star at you so move far back to avoid being hit by the blast
and you have solved a quest. Now turn around and don't bother fighting this guy
as he hits you once and you die.
Equip your fire spell now since you should've collected some mana potions and
use it on the barrel to your right blocking a gate. Run up this way and when you
enter this next room allow all 3 monsters to fall down and unless you are good
enough I wouldn't bother fighting them. Wait till all 3 guys are on the bottom
floor and then climb the ladder to the right or left. Once on this second floor
there is a barrel on the right and a very small cave to jump into. Jump in the
cave and follow the path until you reach some fan blades. Luckily since you
probably haven't saved in a while these blades do minimal damage to you. Just
try and time them right and then use the regeneration spell of healing potions
to heal if you become injured.
Run up to a lit room and a cut-scene ensues. Fall into this torch litten room
and then head down the hall to another cell door. Run in here and fight the 3
monsters and then climb the ladder on the pillar closest to the entrance of the
room. Jump over the wooden beam and then run along to the back where another
barrel is and another opening. More guards here so fall down here and kill them
if you want and then run up the hall and take a right where you can save your
game FINALLY. Run up the hallway and go left to the area where the elevators
were and go down the elevator. Go down another floor and run all the way up the
hallway on the right. This takes you to the outside bridge area where you need
to cross so jump over this and climb the scalable wall.
Once across the bridge the guard you spoke to eralier tells you of the tunnels
and be careful of them. Turn left now once back up this hall and save if you
choose. Turn around now and go left and you'll be back in Dains castle. Run up
the paths killing monsters or just fleeing whatever you choose until you see the
shimmering area to the left where you can save again if you so choose to. Turn
around now and go left up the hall and the guard outside of Dains throne room
speaks to you.

[-Section 15-]
[-Scepter Of Regency-]
[-Quest 5: Find the brigands in Duskwood that stole the Scepter Of
Regency, Recapture it and return it to prince Dain so he can
assume the Stoneheart Throne.-]
Once back in control of Drake you need to go back down the path to where the
shop is and the 2 shopkeepers will give you some things.
Buy what you'd like and now leave this area going straight. Run past the room
with the exploding gems and then when in the room with the guys shooting flames
at you run left into the next hallway. Follow the hallway past the stone golems
unless you think you might be able to beat them and get 2 Earth Gems. Follow the
hallways around and down the slope when you get near the doors and kill the 2
dwarf guards to leave the castle. Exit out the rounded doors and go across the
bridge and enter the cave here. When you enter the woods take a right, right
away and save if you like. Now go out and right and follow the path around.
Eventually on the left an ogre pops out and is extremely difficult at this time
to beat. If you manage to beat him you'll get some mana potion and 41 gold. Head
up the path a ways and another ogre near a fire is here so if you can beat him
he'll give you 41 gold and 2 throwing axes. Now there is a left path and a
straight one so stay straight and you'll encounter another Ogre. Just run away
from this one cause he only gives you 5 gold and a measley healing potion. Fall
in the hole to the left and save the game if you like and then climb back out
via the ladder to your right. Go straight up the next section and another Ogre
pops out so battle him if you choose. He gives out 41 gold and a mana potion.
Head up the path a small ways and if you kill the Ogre here he will give out 41
gold and a restore potion. The next section or area has some giant mushrooms
surrounding a magic. Hop on a mushroom and grab the Mana Shield magic on the
stone. Turn around now and go up the sloped path that's behind you. An Ogre pops
out and gives 35 gold and a mana potion should you choose to fight it. Keep
going straight on the path until another Ogre pops out and gives 35 gold and a
mana potion should you choose to fight it. Walk a small ways up and from the
right another Ogre pops out and gives 40 Gold and a mana potion should you
choose to fight it.
Ahead is 2 Ogres so if you want to fight them then equip a good magic and stand
back. Keep using the magics and allow the 2 Ogres to be close to one another.
When you run low on magic and need to rely on your weapon make sure they are
close together and they will whack each other. Keep focusing on just 1 Ogre and
the other will help you kill it. After killing these 2 creatures enter the gate
that's now opened on the left. Enter the cave and follow the path to another
Ogre behind a large rock. If you kill him you'll get 32 gold and a Dasher Nut.
Go further into the cave and another Ogre is ahead. He has a lightning weapon so
try just using close ranged attacks. When you kill him he gives a Oakheart
weapon rune and 105 gold and a potion. Run to the left now after beating this
Ogre and speak with the Dasher.
Head back to where you got the Mana Magic and stay along that path continuing
straight. When you get to where there is the fire in the middle head right along
this path. Just avoid the Ogres along the way unless you just want extra
expierience and drop in the hole and save if you like. Go along the main path,
straight and eventually you'll see the Dasher ahead. Listen to what he says and
he ends up croaking anyways, How corny, anyways get a new magic called Deadly
Swarm. You now have a new quest that ties in with the completion of the last
quest.

[-Quest 6: Pass through the Dasher's protective gauntlet to prove your worth to
their tribe. Then find some way to gain the assistance to the Dashers in
assaulting the Ogre Brigands.-]
The Dasher told you to kill as many Ogres as possible so make up your own mind
weather you'd like to battle the 3 just ahead. When you beat them fall in the
right hole and save if you want to.
