I. INTRODUCTION
__________________________________________________________________
Welcome to my Dogz II FAQ! This guide is meant to help you better understand
the wide world of Dogz II. This is the third FAQ that I have written and my
second PC FAQ. All of my FAQs can be found at www.gamefaqs.com. Dogz II is
a PC game, in which you can take care of virtual dogs. It’s sort of like a
tamogatchi, only it’s a dog and you don't have to clean up after it.
II. CREDITS/FAQ INFORMATION
__________________________________________________________________
Thanks to:
*CJayC for posting my FAQs and reviews and also maintaining GameFAQs, even
when the stars fade from the sky.
*PF.Magic for making a game so simple, yet so fun.
BEFORE E-MAILING ME, READ THE FOLLOWING RULES TO SEE IF YOUR E-MAIL WILL BE
READ OR NOT:
1. No spamming (sending me or anyone in the credits junk mail).
2. Don't send me something that’s in the FAQ already.
3. Place Dogz II FAQ in the subject somewhere.
Previous Versions:
*Version Final (9/6/04): Four years without a need to update. Might as well
make it final.
*Version 2.0 (5/18/02): Finished the Downloads section and added a new FAQ.
*Version 1.0 (5/11/02): Created the FAQ and 11 of the sections. I really
doubt any more will come along, but hey, who can predict the future?

IV. THE PLAY AREA
__________________________________________________________________
First off, the controls:
-Left Click: Pick up items/Pet your dog
-Double Click (left): Call your dog
-Right Click: Pick up your dog
When you boot up Dogz II, pets will come in the play area from outside. If
it’s the first time you've booted up Dogz II, then it will load the adoption
center where random dogs will come in. Right now, we'll assume that you're
booting it up for the first time.
On this screen, there is a vast array of things you can click on. We'll go
through them step by step:
*Door: Click this to open up the door. Click on it if a dog appears at the
door. This also is to let a pet out. If you don't like a pet, pick it up
and put it on the door. This will make the dog run out the door.
*Lock: On the bottom, in the middle of the door, there is a lock. Click on
it if you don't want pets to come in.
*2 buttons above the door: These show which dogs are out at the time being.
If there are no dogs out, it will say "Choose A Breed". Click on it to
choose what kind of dog you want.
*Playpen: If you have a dog already, this will take you to the play area.
*Web: This takes you to the PF.Magic website where you can download dogs
and play things.
*Adopt Now: This will adopt the pets you have on the screen.
*Blue Box: This is on the bottom of the screen. It will tell you random
information that might just help you.
I know there is more but they'll go under the toys section. When you're
ready, return to the playpen or adopt the pets by clicking the "Adopt Now"
button. If you adopt them, it will ask you to name the first pet you chose
and to enter your name. It will show you a screen that you have to accept.
If you do, then click Adopt. If not, then click Don't Adopt.

*Shelf: This is where all the toys are for your dogs to play with.
When you want to change toys, you go to the toybox screen. Let's go there
now.
The large toybox shows all the toys that you don't have on your shelf yet.
If you haven't seen one of them in the game yet, it will have a "new" sign
on it. Just drag the toys you want onto the shelf and the ones you don't
want onto the toybox.
V. DOGS
__________________________________________________________________
There are five different breeds:
-Chihuahua:
*Default Name: Chi-Chi (Dragon Ball Z anyone?)
*Description: This dog is the smallest and one of the most hyperactive too.
If you want a dog that will play with you at all times, choose this dog.
-Mutt:
*Default Name: Scrappy
*Description: This dog will remain loyal to you for a long time. If want a
dog that’s well rounded, pick this dog.
-Bulldog:
*Default Name: Jowls
*Description: This kind of dog is an active type of dog. However, it likes to
fight with other dogs. Get this dog if you want a challenge or only want one
pet.
-Scottie:
*Default Name: Chip
*Description: This is also a very energetic dog and LOVES to play. If you are
a beginner, I would use this dog first as you'll have the most fun with it.
-Great Dane:
*Default Name: Bootz
*Description: This dog loves to play too, but not as much as the others. It's
very gentle, so it won't pick a fight with your other dogs. However, it will
fight if someone starts else picks a fight with it.

-To get your dog to do a trick, wiggle a treat in a direction or over
a toy.
-If a dog just happens to run away, go to the place where your pets
are saved and a folder should be there with the runaway dog's file in it.
Place it in the file with all your other pets and you'll get that dog
back.
-If you install Catz II on the same computer as Dogz II, you should get
twice the toys, twice the space for getting out toys and your Dogs/Cats
will live in unison.
-The background through the window of the pet door changes during
different times of the day.
Q: My pet RAN AWAY! How come?
A: You abused it or neglected it. This can happed when you use the
squirt bottle too much, don't pay attention to it for a long time or
don't play with it.
Q: I'm going on vacation and won't be able to play with my pets while
I'm gone! Will they run away?
A: The good news is your dog won't run away. It won't even feel
neglected. They only run away if you run the Dogz II program and
don't play with them.
