Version 1.0: First Version, pretty much complete
Section III.The Game Engine
I will run down each feature one-by-one.
THE GAME MENU
New Game:Starts a New Game and Gives you the following screen:
Choose Start Year: You can choose any year from 1900-2003 or to use a fake
roster file("Don't Load Stats"). There is also a "Look Ahead" feature that
allows you to give future stars higher ratings so that they become stars in the
future. This feature is only available from 1900-2001.
Once you submit the Choose Start Year Screen you get the following:
New Game:Select your team's city, name your team, pick a name for yourself and
select your difficulty on this screen. The stadium capacities are shown, as
well as the quality of the stadium, the payroll, the budget, the city's
population(has no effect on the game), the regional population(used to determine
attendence, only 1 in 5 can show up at the stadium on any given day), the
interest of the fan base and the income of the fans.
The advanced options are:
Shuffle Players:Puts the players on random teams
Simulation Mode:This option makes the game attempt to repeat real life instead
of being random.
Equalize Cities:Makes all cities equal financially and located in the same area,
which is the Baseball Mogul version of the Salary Cap(I suggest holding a
fantasy draft if you use this feature)
Resume Game:Allows you to load another game(does not need any explanation, as
this option is pretty much understood by all computer users)
Save Game:This does not need any explanation, except for the types of games.
2004 Version:Save your entire game(only compatible with this version of the
game)
2004 Universe.Dat:Save a universe file for use with Baseball Mogul 2003 or 2004.
