1.1 Version History
-------------------
Version 1.1 (09/30/05): Revised and reworded all missions.
Version 1.0a (09/21/05): Editorial corrections.
Version 1.0 (09/19/05): Covers the three single player missions.
--The HQ plans are trash.
--The AI easily gets shot, so in general, leave the computer only to move from
point to point and to cover/snipe open areas with only a few guards.
--Along the same lines, don't totally rely on the AI to watch your back. So a
team with more than 2 people is unnecessary; most of the time, the last few
members hardly get to shoot anyone anyway.
--When rescuing hostages, the team you control should be the first into the
room (after flashbangs, if needed).
--Learn to love the heartbeat sensor and 3rd person view.
2.1 Characters
--------------
Leaders: Chavez (stealth team), Novikov, Bogart, Price, Walther, Noronha
Assault Team: Every other member in the Assault category
Stealth: Every Recon member
Sniper: Any sniper, but I often use Johnston, Weber, and Galanos.
2.2 Equipment
-------------
For these missions, there is no standard issue kit, so I will detail each
team's equipment before each mission walkthrough. But make sure everyone has a
HB sensor.
-EXT = extraction zone
-INS = insertion zone
-SAlpha, SBravo, SCharlie, SDelta = Snipe at [Go-Code]
-CAlpha, CBravo, CCharlie, CDelta = Cover at [Go-Code]
-I don't use Defend -_-
-Note: Mission plans are designed for Elite missions. However, they work just
as well on Veteran and even Recruit. Just the number of tangos are
different. Overprepared is better than underprepared.
3.1 Lucky Snare
---------------
-Considered to be the worst mission in all Rainbow Six games, but you just need
to know how to effectively eliminate the snipers. Two assault teams and one
sniper team (sniper as leader).
Euro Medium
Enfield L85A1 / Barret Model 82A1 (Green sniper)
Desert Eagle .50
Flashbangs
HB Sensor
Blue Team: Head west into the clearing and CAlpha towards the north "hallway".
A pair of tangos will wander into your sights, so kill them to draw
more tangos to your teams. You and the other teams have set up choke
points that will eliminate a bunch of tangos. Alpha, head through
the hallway you were guarding and go to the next clearing. Hold for
Bravo by the SW exit. Bravo, flashbang the next area and blitz in to
clear it. CCharlie towards the NW opening, but stay out of view of
the NE entrance. Charlie, head down the waterfall pass through the
NE exit and take out the one guard along the way. Hold for Delta
right before the entrance to the hostage's clearing. Delta, flash
the hostage's guards and blitz in to rescue those hostages. Escort
to EXT.
Red Team: NW of INS is a small clearing; CAlpha in here north towards the
opening. Blue will make a few guards wander here. Alpha, continue NW
into the area overlooking the bridge. CCharlie towards the other end
of the bridge. Charlie, cross over and hold for Delta by the entrance
to the hostages, on the opposite side of Blue. Delta, help Blue
rescue the hostages. Head to EXT.
Green Team: Slowly follow Red and watch from the HB sensor as Red takes out the
guards. Once they are all down, sidestep right, looking west at the
waterfall. There is one enemy sniper just to the left of the
waterfall; take him out. Now find the second sniper, who is in the
area south of the eastern hostage zone. If you need to, become
invisible to see where he is. He shouldn't be looking at you, so
shoot him. SBravo towards the north end of the waterfall pass and
take out one more guard. Bravo, head across the bridge. As you get
to the end, look NW and shoot the last sniper hiding behind a rock.
After he is dead, quickly crouch and run east, since guards will
investigate. Red will take care of them for you. Bring up your HB
sensor and find a possible last guard nearby. Kill him if he's
there. Hold for Charlie just around the corner to the east hostage.
But first, you need to check your HB sensor for any remaining
patrols in the top half of the map. If there are, then fire a shot
to alert them to your presence. When they run to you, quickly take
them down. Now when all teams are ready, give Charlie. Flashbang
and secure the east hostages. Head west through the crash site and
slowly turn the corner towards the other hostages. You will see a
sniper on a wooden platform. Shoot him and give Delta. Escort the
east hostages to EXT.
Order of Operations: Start as Green, but let the others do the killing. When
Red is done, take out the two snipers. Bravo to advance
Blue and Green into key areas. When all teams are holding
for Charlie, have Blue and Green take out the guards near
them. Then switch back to Green and give Charlie. Rescue
the first set of hostages and kill the one sniper, then
give Delta.
3.2 Arctic Zebra
----------------
-This mission can be tricky, though it's a small map. One sniper team (sniper
leader) and one assault team.
Blue Team: Infiltrate north and follow the path to the opening. After you kill
the first guard, you can switch to primary weapons. Advance to the
opening, where you can snipe 2 patrols at first. More may come into
view. If you see no more targets, inch out southward some more. You
can see a guy partially hiding behind the snowplow and another guy's
head at the far south end of the map. Move more into the open and
there is one more head past the roof of the shed south of you. Now
head down along the east side of the main building and stick to the
wall. Halfway along the building, flashbang the clearing up ahead to
flush out the one guard in front of the garage. Make sure you shoot
him as he runs around the snowplow. Hug the wall as it turn west.
Throw a flash over the roof of the alcove, and when it goes off run
to take out the sniper on the other side. Now enter the building at
the south door and flash the hallway. Kill the guard here and plant
the satellite module. Hold for Alpha, and at Alpha escort the
hostage to EXT.
Red Team: Follow behind Blue and at the opening, CAlpha towards the gap between
the two closest buildings. Alpha, head back to EXT.
Order of Operations: Control Blue for the whole mission. The first guard may be
difficult to take out without autoaim, so sidestep into
his view while constantly firing the pistol.
3.3 Brazen Heart
----------------
-A map that combines an open space with claustrophobic rooms. Two assault teams
and a sniper.
Desert1 Medium
HK G36K / PSG-1 (Green sniper)
Desert Eagle .50
Frag Grenades
HB Sensor
Blue Team: Head east towards the rocket. You can look down and take out the
guard here. Three more guards will run in, but it's difficult to
kill them all at this angle. When you're done here, run to the
building and enter it at the north door. Clear the top floor going
counter-clockwise and head downstairs. Continue down the nearby
ramp and hold for Bravo before you reach the really long hall.
Bravo, advance down the hall towards the rocket with HB sensor in
hand. Look for the remaining guards and eliminate them.
Red Team: Run north and CAlpha in front of the door to the ramp. Alpha, head
down the ramp until you reach the intersection. Frag the floor below
without being seen. Soon tangos will come up to investigate, so be
ready to take them down. Once they stop coming, peek out and shoot
the guard in the octagonal room. Enter and clear it. On the other
side, you might as well frag the lower floor here too. Head back west
and take those stairs down another level. Clear this room and look
down the hall to cover Blue.
Green Team: Head out from INS and SAlpha at the NW corner of the building you
start out in. Aim towards the SE door of the main building.
Order of Operations: Start as Blue and kill the guards by the rocket. Clear
the first floor as Blue as well. Then switch to Red and
give Alpha. Clear the two big rooms, then give Bravo to
have Blue cleanse the hallway.
If you still have problems, especially on Lucky Snare, use the invisible cheats
(theshadowknows or teamshadow) and take a look around. Now you can explore the
level and find out where all the terrorists are. Of course, you could kill them
all, but why would you need a guide then? Hopefully, you can tweak your plans
with this new info.
Of course, you can ask me if you have still any further questions.
