A. Story
=============
Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 2, picks up where the first one left
off. Kain and Raziel are in Moebius' Chronoplast chamber, having a
heated argument. Kain jumps through the time portal and slips into
Nosgoth's past. Raziel must follow the evil Kain through different
times in Nosgoth's history, and stop him from destroying everything in
his path. Basically, this game is just like the first Soul Reaver,
except there are new friends and foes, and new power=ups for Raziel and
the Soul Reaver. Raziel also finds out more about his past as a Sarafan
Warrior, before Kain resurrected him and his Sarafan Brothers, to be
his sons, his Lieutenants in an evil empire.
=============
B. Controls
=============
Although I hate "Controls" sections in Walkthrough/FAQs, I'm
putting this in for those unlucky people who rented the game and didn't
get a manual:
Left Analog Stick: Move Raziel
X Button: Jump/Swim
L2 + X Button: High Jump / Underwater Speed Burst
Jump (X) + X in Mid-Air: Glide using Raziel's Wings
Square Button: Action Button - Light attacks, pick up items, open
doors, etc.
Triangle Button: Heavy Attacks
Circle Button: Hold to Devour Souls, Tap Twice to Activate / Deactivate
the Soul Reaver
L1: Block Attacks
L2: Crouch
L2 + Square Button: Drop Weapon
R1: Sneak / Auto-Face Enemies in Combat
R2: Look Around Mode (Hold R2 and use the Left Analog Stick to look
around)
R2 + Triangle Button: Fire Projectile (Hold R2 and the Triangle button,
and use the left analog stick to aim. Release the Triangle Button to
fire.)
Select: Access Menu. From here you can Shift between planes, look at
the map, and summon the Soul Reaver.
===============
C. Characters
===============
Raziel - "Born" to Kain as a Son and a Lieutenant of his Army, Raziel
is really a Sarafan Warrior whose tomb Kain raided. Kain resurrected
Raziel and the other Sarafan buried with him, and made them his "sons,"
who were to help him rule his empire of Nosgoth. Raziel, unfortunately,
evolved before his master Kain did (Raziel grew wings at the beginning
of the first game), and was thrown into the Lake of the Dead, destined
to burn in the lake for all eternity. By some luck, however, the Elder
God, a giant squid who dwells within the Abyss of the Lake, saved
Raziel, giving him new life, and the ability to absorb the souls of his
defeated enemies. This is how Raziel became the Soul Reaver.
Kain - Kain, born to noble parents, and thinking himself invincible,
became a vampire after being murdered by robbers. When Kain was
resurrected, he found himself to be a vampire (see Blood Omen: The
Legacy of Kain on Playstation.) At first, Kain made a decent attempt at
healing Nosgoth by destroying the corrupt sorcerers who were poisoning
it. But Kain became power hungry, and decided to rule Nosgoth rather
than save it. He resurrected Raziel and the other Sarafan Warriors as
his "sons" to help him rule this land.
Moebius - Moebius is the controller and watcher of Time. He controls
the Time Portals, which Kain is using to jump between eras. He is a
deceitful little man, with an agenda of his own. He is not to be
trusted.
Vorador - An ancient vampire who roams the land which Raziel first
finds himself in. Raziel feels that someone is watching him the whole
time he is there, and later encounters Vorador outside of the Dark
Forge.
Ariel - The Balance Guardian, who was murdered. She now haunts the
Pillars of Nosgoth.
Elder God - The giant squid from the first Soul Reaver. He is both
Raziel's savior, and his executioner. He saved Raziel from the Lake of
the Dead by transforming his broken body into its new, soul devouring
form, forever condemning Raziel to walk lands of Nosgoth, searching for
the remaining vampires
Janos Audron - An ancient vampire, and the 10th Guardian of the Pillars.
He is the only Guardian still living. He explains Raziel's destiny to
him, and how the Soul Reaver was forged.
==============
D. Reaver Guide
=============
Dark Reaver - The first elemental power that Raziel acquires for the
Soul Reaver is Darkness. When the Soul Reaver has been recharged in a
Dark fountain (they look like bowls with dark, purple light), it
becomes the Dark Reaver. You can tell if the Dark Reaver is active by
looking at the bottom left corner of your screen. If there is an
eclipse symbol (the moon over the sun), the Dark Reaver is active. You
can activate items with Dark Reaver symbols on them by using the action
button while the Soul Reaver is in this state. Raziel can also activate
Dark Reaver altars, which look like Purple Flames coming from spots on
the ground. Shove the Dark Reaver into the altar to activate a Dark
Bridge, which Raziel can walk on. The Dark Reaver's projectiles can
also be used to blind the Sentry Eyes located around Nosgoth, for a
short period of time.
Light Reaver - The second elemental power that Raziel acquires for the
Soul Reaver is Light. When the Soul Reaver has been recharged in a
Light fountain (a bowl with yellow/white light), it becomes the Light
Reaver. This is represented by a Sun symbol in the lower left corner of
your screen. You can activate items with Light Reaver symbols on them
by using the action button while the Soul Reaver is in this state.
Raziel can also use the Light Reaver to shoot the Pink Orbs found over
some doors, which are activated by the Light Reaver's projectile.
Air Reaver - The third elemental power that Raziel acquires for the
Soul Reaver is Air. When the Soul Reaver has been recharged in an Air
fountain (a bowl with a bluish light), it becomes the Air Reaver. It is
represented by a circle, with three U=shaped symbols attached to it, in
the lower left hand corner. You can activate break weak walls using the
Air Reaver's projectiles, and also you can activate Air Reaver altars
with it. The Air Reaver altars look like the Air Reaver symbol, and
will be located on the ground. Plunge the Air Reaver into them to
activate an updraft, which Raziel can glide on.
Fire Reaver - The fourth elemental power that Raziel acquires for the
Soul Reaver is Fire. When the Soul Reaver has been recharged in a Fire
fountain (a bowl with a flame coming out of it), it becomes the Fire
Reaver. It is represented by a fire triangle, with a circle in the
middle. It can open doors with the Fire Reaver symbol on it.

E. Glitches and Precautions
====================
==============
Sarafan Stronghold
==============
This new glitch comes via email from Carrol Curtis
(carrollj@tds.net). Thank you, you were the first to be able to give me
detailed information on how this glitch occurred!
"I found another glitch! It is at the very start of the game when
Raziel finds the physical Soul Reaver on that tomb. Well after Mobieus
leaves and and the doors shut and lock, I tried to go back in. I jumped
and held forward and just went through the locked gate, right through
the lock at the center of the double doors. Well, guess what? You
guessed it, there is no way out! Had to restart and watch all the
opening movies again and redo all the battles."
========
Dark Forge
========
This is the only major glitch in the game, and it's a very annoying
one. It seems that if you mess with the Ravens (the birds that turn
green and disappear) outside the Dark Forge, and then enter and
complete the puzzle, you will have no way to exit the forge. There are
two solutions to this:
Method 1:
Replay the Dark Forge, taking extra care not to disturb the
Ravens on your way into the forge. Complete the puzzle, and you
should be able to use the Dark Reaver to open the door and exit.
Doing this will still enable you to view the cut scene between
Vorador and Raziel.
Method 2:
Open the door to the Dark Forge, and, while the door is open,
switch to the Spectral Realm and proceed into the forge. Make sure
you get a good, long way away from the open doors before you switch
back to the Material Realm. This will cause the game to leave these
doors open. Solve the Dark Forge puzzle, and then, before exiting
the forge, switch back to the Spectral Realm. This will prevent the
doors from closing when you approach them, and you can exit the Dark
Forge without any glitches. Completing the Dark Forge in this manner
will NOT allow you to view the cut scene between Raziel and Vorador.
On a side note, I was told on AIM that if you re-enter the Dark
Forge, and then exit it using the Dark Reaver after leaving using the
method above, you *will* get the cutscene between Raziel and Vorador. I
don't know if the potential to get stuck in the Dark Forge is still
there the second time around or not.
Thanks for information regarding this glitch go out to:
And thanks to everyone else who emailed me that they were having
problems getting out of the Dark Forge. Without you guys, I would never
have believed that there was a problem with the game, since I made it
through glitchfree. Also, if I forgot someone in my list of thank-yous,
let me know so I can give you the credit you deserve.
========
Fire Forge
========
This one comes straight from an email from Aaron Trionfi
(trionfia@sbcglobal.net). Thanks a lot for the detailed information
regarding this glitch, as so far no one had been able to tell me what
the heck they did to enact it!
"...I came across an interesting one (glitch) while completing the
Janos Audron puzzle. If you look closely, you can see where the air
currents will materialze once you complete a level of the puzzle. With
this in mind, you can actually activate the currents with your Air
Reaver before they materialize! Although you can't see the wind, you
can still float up to the next level! I did not realize this was a
glitch until after I completed the puzzle (an alternate way) only to
place the last key in the wrong side of the last door (the game did not
like this and refused to unlock the door!). I had to start the puzzle
over."
=============
F. Walkthrough
=============
======================
1: The Time Streaming Device
======================
Raziel and Kain are where the first game left off, in the
Chronoplast chamber. Raziel and Kain argue for a while, and then Kain
leaps through a time portal and goes into Nosgoth's past, where it is
still undamaged. Raziel follows in pursuit, but Moebius pulls him out
of the time stream so that he does not slam headlong into a battle with
Kain.
Moebius describes Kain's plan to confront Raziel at the Pillars
of Nosgoth. Moebius describes Raziel's heritage as a Sarafan Knight
before Kain resurrected Raziel and the others as his sons. Moebius
forces an alliance between himself and Raziel. Moebius also shows
Raziel the power of his staff, which can halt a vampires powers, by
forcing the Soul Reaver to disappear, unable to reappear until Raziel
is out of it's range. Moebius gets Raziel to resume a quest to destroy
Kain and "embrace your Sarafan heritage."
After the cut scene has ended, proceed to your right, through the
large double doors. Proceed down the hallway, and defeat the two guards
in it (don't forget to suck in their souls after defeating them). This
will cause the gate to rise so you can exit through the door at the end
of the hallway.
In the next hallway, defeat the single guard, and exit through
the door on your right. You cannot exit through the gate at the end of
the hall yet. In this next room, defeat the single guard and proceed
through the door directly across from where you entered (the only other
exit).
Raziel looks around the stronghold and sees stained glass
depictions of his heritage as a Sarafan Knight, as well as statues of
the Sarafan Knights.
In this large courtyard area, you must defeat three enemies to
raise the gate, which lowered at the end of the cut scene. Proceed to
the gate and shift to the Spectral Plane. Walk forward until Raziel
passes through the iron bars. Proceed to the Blue Portal in the middle
of this room. Feed on the free souls in this room until Raziel's health
has fully recovered, then stand on the Blue Portal and shift back to
the Material Plane.
Away from Moebius' staff, Raziel's Soul Reaver returns, and
Raziel understands how Moebius' crusade against the vampires had been
so successful. With Moebius' great power, vampires would be crippled
and powerless, and at his mercy.
In this new room, part of the Cathedral of the Stronghold, there
are seven enemies, which you can slay, though it is not necessary to
kill them all. At any rate, proceed through the large iron doors
directly in front of where you appeared after the cut scene.
**** WARNING: PLEASE READ "Sarafan Stronghold" IN THE
GLITCHES AND PRECAUTIONS SECTION OF THIS FAQ BEFORE PROCEEDING ONWARD!
THANK YOU! *****
Raziel finds the chapel in which the tomb of King William the
Just is laid to rest. Moebius got Kain to slay William to start the
genocide against the vampires. Raziel finds the original sword, the
Soul Reaver, broken in two but still containing it's soul. Raziel's
Spectral Soul Reaver absorbs the power of the broken blade, and nearly
kills him. Raziel becomes the Soul Reaver's helpless pawn. Raziel
accuses Moebius, who suddenly appears, of setting this trap for him.
Raziel moves to kill Moebius, but leaves the old man, once again in
pursuit of Kain. Raziel can now summon the Soul Reaver at will. His
life gauge is also much smaller than at the start of the game. If the
Soul Reaver is over-used in its new form (there's a second gauge next
to your life gauge, it kind of curves around it), it will begin to feed
on Raziel's health.
There is also a cut scene in which Raziel looks at a Stained
Glass portrait of the Sarafan Knights killing an ancient vampire, by
ripping his heart out. The Sarafan protected his heart, known as the
"Heart of Darkness". They wanted to make sure the evil power contained
within it would never escape.
Exit through the door on the left side of the room. In this
hallway there will be one guard to defeat. Exit through the door at the
end of the hall.
Raziel is in a chapel, which is a memorial to himself and his
former Sarafan Knights, before Kain transformed them into his sons, his
Lieutenants. Raziel reflects on how righteous he was, and how vile he
has become.
Defeat the enemies in this room to open the gate, which was
lowered at the end of the cut scene. Proceed up the spiral staircase
that is located on the left side of the room, and exit through the door
on the upper level.
This hallway contains no enemies, so just run through it and out the
door at the other end.
===========================
3: The Southern Lake
===========================
Raziel looks at Nosgoth in its original form, before Kain destroyed it.
Jump off of this ledge, and swim to the left, until you reach a
piece of land with a set of gears on it. Raziel will illuminate a loop
on a post, which are the game's checkpoints. If you're killed in the
Material World, Raziel will return to the nearest checkpoint. Walk up
the ramp in front of the gears, and activate them. This will open an
underwater passage to your left. Swim through this passage, and head
left until you reach a low piece of land. Raziel will now discover
"ancient obelisks". These are the game's save points. Activate them to
save your game. Now, walk back towards the water, turn left, and jump
up onto the raised land. Now, crouch and jump up to the higher piece of
land. Now, run forward and glide across the gap to the next piece of
land.
Now just follow this path, defeating enemies along the way.
Eventually you will wade through a small river and activate another
checkpoint. Turn around, and you will see a staircase to your right.
Proceed up this staircase, fighting the enemies along the way.
Raziel notices how the impaled vampires along his path look more
like oppressed townsfolk than the ruthless hunters of his era, and
becomes disgusted at this persecution.
Upon reaching the gate, defeat the enemies around it, then hold
the switch to remove the bars holding it closed. Now, proceed through
it.
==================
4: The Pillars
==================
Raziel discovers that Kain was born to be the Balance Guardian of
the Pillars, to replace Ariel, after her assassination. Kain murdered
the rest of the circle to restore balance to their corrupted pillars,
but failed to destroy himself and finish the restoration. Kain avoided
this, as it would annihilate their species, as he was the last vampire.
Kain disappears after the cut scene. Walk behind the pillars to
get the next cut scene. Now, shift to the Spectral plane to open up a
path directly behind the pillars, and proceed down it. Once you reach
the Blue Portal, shift back to the Material plane. There will be
another cut scene, in which Raziel thinks he is being watched. Now,
activate the checkpoint on your right, and proceed onward down the path
in front of you. There will be another cut scene, in which Raziel sees
a figure much like himself, painted on a door. Use the Soul Reaver to
open the ancient door.
Now, enter this newly opened path. The door will close behind
you. Fight the (somewhat hard to see) Shadow Enemies as you follow this
path. You will enter a room, which looks much like the pillars on the
surface, and another cut scene will play out. You will discover the
Elder God is still present in this world, and will have a nice little
homecoming with Raziel. Straight ahead of you will be a save point.
Now, dive underwater and search for a tunnel with lights on the
entrance.
Follow this tunnel, and emerge amongst more of those wonderful
shadow creatures. After killing them, turn around and head up the ramp
on the left side of the room. Jump to the ledge (there's a small gap
between the ramp and the next ledge) and proceed down the path.
Eventually you will end up at another pool of water. Dive into it, and
follow the underwater cavern that is lit. Proceed on until you find a
wall that can be climbed (you won't need to climb it since you're
swimming.)
==================
6: Swamp
==================
When you emerge, you will be treated to another cut scene. Now,
proceed forward and activate the checkpoint. There will be a few
enemies here that will need a good slaying, and then you can proceed to
the right by following the "stepping stones." The mud in this area is
quite thick so try to fight enemies on dry land. You'll reach a door,
which Raziel will kick down. Raziel will then have a small cut scene in
which Raziel realizes Vorador is the person who is watching him.
Proceed down the path that was opened, when Raziel kicked down the
door. There will be a few enemies here. After defeating them, proceed
around this area until you come to another arch, like the doorway
Raziel went through after knocking down the door. You'll know when
you've found it, as there is a save point located there. Proceed left
from the save point, down the wide path, fighting the enemies as you
go. There will be a small cut scene in which Raziel talks about "a
passage to the north, which is obstructed and too high for me to
reach." To the left of this area, there is a wall, which Raziel can
climb. Head up it, and jump down on the other side of this wall.
Proceed down this path, until you reach the ruins on which you saw
Vorador. There will be a short cut scene. Now, use the Soul Reaver to
open the door in front of Raziel (as you approach the door, you will
activate another checkpoint.)
***** WARNING: BEFORE APPROACHING THE DARK FORGE, PLEASE READ SECTION
"E: Glitches And Precautions" ABOVE BEFORE APPROACHING THE DARK FORGE.
THANK YOU! *********
===================
7: Dark Forge
===================
The doors will close behind you, leaving you in an empty hallway.
Head down it, and use the Soul Reaver to defeat the guard in front of
the door. Pick up the shield, which will be floating near you in
midair, and place it on the door to open it. Proceed down the hallway,
and then shift to the Spectral Plane to pass through the gate blocking
your path. Pass through this room then head right until you find a Blue
Portal. Shift back to the Material Realm. Head back to the gate that
you passed through, and climb up the wall on the left side of the room.
There will be a short cut scene with Raziel. Head up the stairs, and
slay the enemy at the top with the Soul Reaver. Now, glide across the
room to the pillar with the platform on top. Now, Glide across to the
platform with the stairs, in front of the pillar. There will be a short
cut scene, while Raziel looks around this room. The room contains
mirrors, which you must turn to open the doors located around it room.
Drop down, and turn the mirror until it opens the room on the
right. Go down this hallway, and at the end, Shift to the Spectral
Plane to pass through the grate. You should end up in a large room with
a tree, holding a platform, in the middle. Locate the Blue Portal and
Shift back to the Material Realm. Climb one of the Climbing Walls
(located at the North and South ends of the room) and Glide out to this
platform. Now, shift to the Spectral Plane. The room will twist, and
the Platform you are on will rise up, so that you can glide across to
the hallway in front of you. Once across, stand on the Blue Portal, and
Shift back to the Material Plane. Use the Soul Reaver to defeat the
guard, and then pick up the shield, which is floating near you. Use it
to open the nearby doorway. Proceed down this hall, and then use the
Soul Reaver to shoot open the Ceiling, which is over the mirror. Grab
and Drag the Movable pillar to the center of the room. Then turn the
mirror to face it. If you did this correctly, there will be a small
cut scene showing the shadow cast by the pillar. Now, jump on top of
the fallen pillar piece to the right of the mirror. High jump to the
top of the pillar, and glide across to the open passage. There will be
a short cut scene. Pick up the small mirror, which is held on the
platform. Now drop down and head out towards the main room. When you
approach the door with the mirror symbol on it, it will now open for
you. Now, head on back to the main mirror room. Walk into the room and
the door will close behind you. Head to the back of the room, and place
the mirror on the holder, which resembles the one you removed it from.
Now, go and turn the large mirror until it opens the room on the
left. It will open a door guarded by a gate on the left side. Shift to
the Spectral Realm, and pass through the gate. Find the Blue Portal,
shift back to the Material Realm, and find the Climbing Wall. Climb it,
and head back towards the mirror you passed after coming through the
gate. Turn the mirror by the gate towards the mirror in the main room
(face it forward.) As you approach the ledge, there will be a pillar,
which can be moved. Drag it to the center, and it will cast a shadow
you can walk on. Walk out to the center platform, using this shadow.
Use the Soul Reaver to shoot a projectile at the glowing spot on the
ceiling in this room (its over the mirror that's on the platform.) Once
this opens, turn the mirror until a passageway opens. High jump and
head down this passage. Move the sundial to the right until the light
shines down the hole, hitting the small mirror you placed. There will
be a cut scene, and the large blue crystal in the main room will ignite
the Soul Reaver forge. There will be a short cut scene, and Raziel will
shove the Soul Reaver forge. You will now posses the Dark Reaver, and
your life gauge will increase.
Now, shove the Dark Reaver into the door behind Raziel, and there
will be a cut scene where Raziel explains the elemental wells around
Nosgoth. Now, head towards the far back door, and shove the Dark Reaver
into it. Shove the Dark Reaver into the last Soul Reaver door, activate
the checkpoint, and enjoy a cut scene between Raziel and Vorador.
===============
8: Swamp
===============
Our goal now is to head back to the Southern Lake, at which point
we will enter the Light Forge. I'll assume you can find your own way
back to the Southern Lake, and I will pick up the guide from that
point.
There will be a cut scene between Raziel and the Elder God. This
is a good hint that you're going the right way, if you're confused on
how to get back to the Southern Lake. This is also a good place to use
the Save Point. Use the Dark Reaver to open the Exit in this Area, and
enter:
=================
10: The Pillars
==================
Activate the Check Point here once again, and proceed on back to:
=======================
11: Southern Lake
=======================
Jump into the lake, and swim back through the passage that you
opened earlier, using the giant gears. In between the four waterfalls,
there is a small piece of land with a door on it. Use the Dark Reaver
to open this door and enter:
As usual, the doors will snap closed behind you, and you'll be
left in a long hallway. Fight your way through this hallway, and Glide
out to the altar with the Purple flame in the middle of the large room.
There will be a short cut scene. If you need to recharge the power of
the Dark Reaver, go to the ground level behind the altar platform, and
recharge it. Now, stand on the Altar and shove the Dark Reaver into the
flames. This will activate a dark bridge over to the other side of the
room. Cross the bridge, and then shift to the Spectral Plane to pass
through the gate blocking your path. Activate the Check Point and
shift back to the Material Plane. Proceed forward and use the Soul
Reaver to open the door in front of you. There will be a short cut
scene while Raziel looks around the room. This is the main room of the
Light Forge. Head to the back of this room, and shift to the Spectral
Plane. Pass through the Gate blocking your path. Head forward until you
come to a Blue Portal. Shift back to the Material Plane. Head back to
the gate that you passed through just a few seconds ago, now in solid
form.
On one side of the room, there will be a mirror, which you can
move by sliding it up or down. Pull the mirror away from the gate so
that it unlocks the set of doors with the Sun on them. Proceed down
this hallway until the gates close, and you have to destroy the enemies
to proceed. You will get a large mirror. Place this mirror on the empty
stand in the main room. Go down the hallway by this mirror, and turn
the large mirror until it opens the sun door near it. Go down this
hallway until you reach a gate. Shift to the Spectral Plane and pass
through the gate. There will be a short cut scene, which hints at the
exit to this area. Climb up the pillars until you are high enough to
glide to the exit. Proceed until you reach the Blue Portal, located on
the left side of a long hallway. Shift back to the Material Realm. Head
back to the room with the Pillars. Activate the Soul Reaver, and
recharge it with the Dark Reaver power. Now, head back to where the
exit you glided to is. The block in the wall between the two staircases
can be dragged. Drag the block out, climb up, and proceed down the long
hallway again. Head left at the end, defeat the guards, and plunge the
Dark Reaver into the Altar. This will create another Dark Bridge. Head
across it, and fight the Guards in the room at the end. Now you have
the second small mirror, now jump down to the room below and place the
mirror on the holder. Now head back to the main room, and back to where
the mirror that slid up or down is. Slide the mirror down away from
the sun door, so it shines on the other mirror. Now, head down the
hallway across from the mirror, glide across the gap. Now, use the Dark
Reaver to open the door. That solves the first part of the Light Forge
Puzzle.
Head back to the room with the pillars and now, you can open the
Dark Reaver gate that you had to pass through before. Head back down
the long hallway, past the large mirror, and Glide across the gap, to
where the statue with the Dark Reaver symbol is. Now, use the Dark
Reaver. There will be a short cut scene with the statue lowering into
the ground. Now, turn the Large Mirror so that it shines onto the Small
Mirror on the other side of the gap (there will be a short cut scene to
let you know they're lined up right. Now cross the gap again, and use
the Dark Reaver to open the door that the Small Mirror is shining on.
This will cause it to shine on another mirror, and solve another part
of the Light Forge puzzle. Head towards the gate in Light Forge Room
(the first gate you passed through.) There will be a short cut scene
and the gate will open.
Now, head back up the long hallway to the room where the Sentry
Eye is (where you used the Blue Portal and saw the guy get zapped by
the beam.) Use the Dark Reaver to shoot a projectile into the eye (its
located over the Sun Symbol, on the Ceiling.) Once the eye rolls back,
run forward and grab the sun symbol. Now, the eye will roll back, so
get out of its shooting range as quick as possible. If you get zapped,
you'll shift back to the Spectral Realm, and will have to shift back to
the Material Realm, and recharge the Dark Reaver in the Pillar Room,
and do this all over again. Now, run down the long hallway, with the
sun symbol, back to the room with the Light Forge in it. Stand in front
of the Light Forge, and place the sun symbol on the spot that looks
like a sun. After a short cut scene, you will be in control of Raziel
again. Walk forward, and thrust the Soul Reaver into the Light Forge.
After another cut scene, you will have the Light Reaver, and a larger
health gauge. Proceed to the door located behind you, and thrust the
Light Reaver into it. It's time to make our way out of the Light Forge,
and back to the Southern Lake. Pass through the door you just opened,
pass by the Light Reaver recharger, and open the Gate behind it using
the Light Reaver. Pass through the room with two staircases (the one
with the Dark Reaver Altar which activates the Dark Bridge) and shoot
the symbol over the door with the Light Reaver (there is a short cut
scene which hints at this.) This will open the doors in front of you.
Head down the hallway, and use the Soul Reaver to open the doors in
front of you, allowing you to proceed back to:
======================
13: Southern Lake
======================
Swim back through the underwater passage (you'll need to open it
again, using the gears like before) and make use of the Save Point
before entering Moebius' Strong Hold once again. Once you're ready, use
the Light Reaver to shoot at the Pink Orb over the partially submerged
doors. This will open them up and you can enter the Stronghold.
Swim into the newly opened passageway. At the end of it, there
will be a place to recharge the Light Reaver on the left side, and
another hallway to your right. Head down the hallway to the right, and
there will be a short cut scene showing the doors close behind you.
Head down the hallway, defeating any enemies which you may encounter.
Exit through the door at the end of the hall. Now you'll be in a room
with several enemies. Defeat them all to open the next door. Head
through this door, and you'll be back in the Cathedral where the Soul
Reavers merged. Head forward through the large iron gates, for a long
cut scene between Kain and Raziel. Head through the door to your left,
and down the hallway, until you reach the round room with all the
murals on the walls. Find the exit on the right side of the room, and
head down it. You will now be in a room where you need to defeat the
enemies to open the exit. Once they are beaten, proceed through the
opened exit and into the courtyard you where in at the beginning of the
game. Defeat the enemies here, and head down the hallway in front of
you. Exit this hallway through the doorway at the end, and you will
find yourself in another room where the exit is locked. Defeat the two
guards and the dog to unlock the exit, and move onward through it. Go
left down this new hall, and out the exit. Go through the large double
doors, to the left of the Light Reaver recharge point, and enter the
room where the game began.
==================================
15: Time Streaming Device
=================================
Use the Light Reaver to shoot the pink orb over the door on the left
side of the room. This will open the door, and cause a cut scene
between Raziel and Moebius. Raziel will transport himself back in time,
and emerge in the Time Streaming Device in the past. Exit through this
room's only door, and enjoy the cut scene. Raziel will activate a
checkpoint, and emerge in a very different version of:
After defeating the enemies in this room, exit through the large double
doors, to the south. Proceed forward, destroying enemies as you
encounter them. Exit through the twisted bars on the right side of the
hallway. The creatures in this version of the Sarafan Stronghold are
Wraiths, and will exist in both the Spectral and Material Realms, so be
careful. Pass through the door at the back of this room, and head down
the short hallway, and into the courtyard. Pass down the hallway on
the opposite side of the courtyard, and through the door in the room at
the end of it. You will find yourself in the round room that had all
the paintings of the Sarafan Warriors on the walls. Head through the
North exit, and defeat the two large enemies to remove the energy wall
blocking your path. Head through the twisted iron bars and you will be
treated to a cut scene, where Raziel finds out that he is really in
Nosgoth's future, instead of the past. Raziel decides he has to explore
the era he is in, since Moebius has left him stranded. Head through the
gate to the west, and forward through the great cathedral, and out the
door in the back, to the West. There will be a cut scene between Raziel
and Moebius' spirit. After the cut scene, exit through the door to the
right, and head on down the hallway. Defeat the three large enemies
here to remove the green barriers blocking your path. Swim back out of
the stronghold and enter:
==================================
17: The Southern Lake
==================================
Now would be a very good time to use the save point across
from the entrance to the Sarafan Stronghold. From the save point, head
back towards the lake. At the edge of the lake, head left, jump up, and
then high jump to the higher platform. Glide across and follow the
path, fighting the enemies along the way. Eventually you will reach a
pillar on the right side of the road, which is slanted over a pool. Run
up the pillar, and glide across to the ledge. Be sure to activate the
checkpoint on the right side of the stream, the head left, up the
stairs. Jump and Glide across the broken bridge and proceed onward down
the path. At the end, open the large double doors, and enter:
===================
18: The Pillars
===================
There will be a cut scene between Ariel and Raziel. After the
cut scene, if you try to proceed forward past the pillars as you did
before, there will be a huge Wraith, which is not stunned by your
attacks. Be very careful while fighting it, as it can kill you with a
few hits. After defeating the Wraith, move forward on the path. There
will be another Wraith, which must be defeated to remove the green
barrier blocking your path. After destroying it, continue down the
path. When you reach the Blue Portal, shift back to the Material Realm.
Move forward and activate the checkpoint on the right side of the path,
then continue on forward. At the end of the path, use the Soul Reaver
to open the large door that has a large painting of a creature that
resembles Raziel. Move forward through the door, and it will close
behind you. Proceed down the short hallway to enter the:
Follow the path forward, fighting the Shadow creatures using the
Soul Reaver. Eventually you will end up at the second set of pillars,
where the Elder God resided in the first world. He is still here, and
there will be a cut scene between the Elder God and Raziel. Once the
cut scene is over, two large Wraiths will attack you. After defeating
them, you can use the save point located across from where Raziel
stands. Now, dive into the water where the Elder God is, and locate the
underwater tunnel, marked by the two lamps on either side. Follow it,
and jump out when you reach the surface. Follow the path up the ramp to
your right, and jump to the platform at the end of the ramp. Follow the
ramp and the path as the twist upward, and then move downward. Use the
Dark Reaver recharge point, and jump into the water surrounding the
statue you see below you. Find the tunnel underwater, marked by two
lights on either side of the entrance. Emerge from the water, fight the
shadow creature, and then jump back in the water on the other side of
the platform. Swim until you reach another tunnel in which you can
emerge from the water. Jump out and onto the platform. Turn to your
left, and jump up onto the ledge by the glowing crystal. Now, glide
across the pool of water to the opposite ledge. Follow the short path,
and jump up to another ledge. Now, turn around until you see a ledge
with Purple Flames (a Dark Reaver mark.) Jump and Glide out to that
ledge, and then thrust the Dark Reaver into the altar (the hole on the
floor.) This will cause a Dark Bridge to form, so that you can walk
across to the next ledge. At the end of the path in front of you, there
will be a large enemy, which you'll need to defeat to remove the green
wall blocking your path. After removing the green wall, proceed down
the path a little bit, and there will be a climbing wall on the right.
Climb up the wall, walk around the edge of the hole you just emerged
out of, and enter:
==============
20: Swamp
==============
Walk forward and activate the checkpoint in front of you. Defeat
the bizarre looking enemies using the Soul Reaver, and walk forward to
examine the door to the Time Streaming Device. There will be a new cut
scene, explaining that your new goal is to break the seal, which is
preventing you from using it. Head to the right, and follow the
"stepping stones" around, where you will encounter a human enemy.
Defeat him, and proceed through the archway. Proceed in a large U shape
around this area, defeating the enemies as you go using the Soul
Reaver. Pass through another arch, and defeat the enemies here. You may
want to use the Save Point, which is located in this area. Head to the
right from the save point, where you will encounter more human enemies.
Head down this path, defeating the enemies as you go. Eventually there
will be a small cut scene, which shows that you can now pass through
the mountains. Move forward, and climb up the wall in front of you.
Head down the path cut into the mountains. You'll activate a checkpoint
as you enter:
=============
21: Uschtenheim
=============
Jump off the ledge, just past the checkpoint, to the area where
the waterfall is. Defeat the five enemies here, then head to the left
of the waterfall, and climb the wall. Head down the path directly in
front of the large wall, where you will encounter two large enemies,
which must be defeated to remove the blue wall blocking your path. Beat
them, and continue down the path (the correct path has rain falling
down into it.) When you reach the next cavern, defeat the enemies and
either climb up the wall in the back, or run up the ramp to the left.
Now, proceed down this path until you reach an archway, which looks
like part of a castle. Use your high jump to jump on top of the
archway. Defeat the two guards, and hold the lever to open the gate
below. There will be a cut scene in which Raziel enters a small
village. Once you regain control of Raziel, there will be a large enemy
in front of him. Destroy the enemy and head down the street in front of
you. Eliminate the enemies as you go, and at the end of the street is a
save point, which I suggest you make use of. Head back out from the
save point, and move around the building which the save point is in.
There will be a few enemies in this area. After defeating them, head
left through the open gate, and follow the path. Destroy the large
enemy to remove the green wall blocking you, and proceed further down
the path. Drop down, and there will be about seven enemies trying to
attack you all at once. Use the Soul Reaver to destroy them quickly.
Now, jump up to the ledge on the opposite side of the room, and proceed
up the ramp. There will be a large platform across a small gap, where
an enemy is standing. Use your force projectile to knock him off the
ledge, and then glide over to the ledge. Directly across from this
ledge, there is a low ledge (you can reach it from the ground level)
where an enemy with a cannon is. Glide, run, walk, whatever over to
this ledge, and defeat him. Then climb up the wall behind where he was
standing, and head down the path. Defeat the enemies here, while
following the path. Climb up the wall at the end of the path, and
defeat the two large enemies to remove the blue wall that is blocking
your way. Continue along this path, and you will activate a checkpoint,
and another cut scene will play out, involving Raziel and Kain. Head
left from where you're standing, and get on the platform where the
Light Reaver recharge is. Head up the platform until you reach a wall,
and high jump up to the next platform. Now, head left, defeating the
enemies until you reach a climbing wall. Climb up the wall, and two
humans, and two very strong enemies will confront you. After beating
the enemies, head to the end of the path and climb up the wall. There
will be a Dark Reaver recharge here, and a few enemies. Head towards
the door at the end of the path, and you will be confronted by three
large enemies. After beating them, head up the stair to activate a
checkpoint, use the Dark Reaver to shoot the Sentry Eye over the door.
When the eye rolls back, run forward and use the Dark Reaver to open
the door. Enter, and the door will close behind you. Welcome to the:
=====================
22. Air Forge
=====================
After the cut scene, head up the stairs to your left or right,
and use the Light Reaver recharger behind either wall, to turn the Soul
Reaver into the Light Reaver. Now, walk out onto the middle platform
(the one that juts out into the room.) Stand on the Light Reaver symbol
on the floor, and use the Light Reaver to shoot a projectile at the
gold, glowing area on the pillar in front of you. After the short cut
scene, glide across the gap to the platform directly across from you.
Shift to the spectral realm, and pass through the gate. Head down the
short hallway, and to your right. Activate the checkpoint that's near
the Blue Portal, and then use the Blue Portal to shift back to the
Material Realm. Head down the hall, and two large enemies will
materialize, blocking your path with a blue wall. Beat them, and
proceed into the next room. Beat the enemies here to get a Blue Air
Forge symbol. Pick it up, and use it to unlock the door in front of
you. You will activate a checkpoint as you walk into the room. You are
now in the main room of the Air Forge. After the short cut scene, drop
down the ledge below, and locate the door with the Soul Reaver symbol
on it (if you land all the way at ground level, climb the wall with the
Soul Reaver symbol on it, then head down the hallway in front of the
climbing wall and you'll find it.) Use the Soul Reaver to open the
door, and enter the room beyond it. The door will close behind you.
Defeat the enemies here to get the next Blue Air Forge symbol. Use it
to open the door at the other end of the room, and proceed down the
hallway behind it. There will be a short cut scene to give you an idea
of where you need to go. Shift to the Spectral Realm, and climb up the
block that slid out of the wall when you changed worlds (the block I'm
referring to has a carving of a face on it, with something that looks
like a ball below it. The block is on the left side of the room; don't
use the right one, unless you already have the Light Reaver.) Use this
block to get up to the next level of the room. Now, use the blue portal
to shift back to the Material Realm. To the right of the portal there
is a Light Reaver Recharge, and to the Left there is a staircase. In
the middle of the wall on this side of the room, there is a vent
blowing air. Stand in front of this while facing the opposite side of
the room. High jump, and glide to the opposite side of the room. To
your left is a Dark Reaver recharge, and to your left is a set of
stairs. In front of you is a vent similar to the one that was blowing
air on the other side of the room, but this one is closed. Use the
action button to open it, and then use the Dark Reaver recharge. Glide
back to the other side of the room using this newly opened vent, and
head up the stairs. Shoot the Sentry Eye with the Dark Reaver, and run
past it, up the stairs, and down a small hallway on the left. There's a
Purple Flame altar here. Shove the Dark Reaver into it to activate the
Dark Bridge. Cross about halfway over the Dark Bridge, and then glide
down to your left (to the side with the Light Reaver Recharge.) Open
the air vent on this side the same way you opened the one on the other
side. Now, glide back across to the Dark Reaver recharge side, and head
up the stairs. Use the Light Reaver to open the door. Now head up the
stairs and to the right, and cross the Dark Bridge. In this darkened
room, use the Light Reaver to shoot the small, glowing yellow spot
towards the ceiling. This will illuminate the room, and cause blood to
flow from the mural on the wall. You can now take the Blue Heart from
the Mural. Head back to the main room, and drop down to the lowest
level. Head down the path with the two Blue Stones on both sides of the
entrance, and place the Blue Heart in the body, which is on top of the
Blue Air Altar. This will activate the Blue Wind tunnel. Now, head back
to the main room, and climb the wall with the Light Reaver symbol on
it. Head down the hall, and defeat the enemy. Now, use the Light Reaver
to open the door. Defeat the enemies here to get a Blue Air Forge
symbol, and use it to open the door. Head down the hallway, and climb
up either the left or the right side of the structure in front of you.
Head out towards the Purple Flame altar, and then shift to the Spectral
Plane. High Jump, and glide across towards the right ledge on the
opposite side of the room (you can see the Blue Portal over there.) Use
the Blue Portal to shift back to the Material Plane, and then locate
the Dark Reaver recharger. Use this to change the Soul Reaver to the
Dark Reaver. Glide back to the other side of the room (or jump down,
and climb back up) and use the Dark Reaver to activate the Dark Bridge.
Now, use the Light Reaver recharge right behind you to change the Dark
Reaver to the Light Reaver, and head across the bridge. There are some
pillars near the front of this platform, which you can high jump up, to
get up to a higher part of the blowing air. Turn around until you face
the exit which was in the cut scene (you can spot it easily, it's a
dark room with a gold ball glowing towards the top of it), and high
jump and glide across to the room. Use the Light Reaver to shoot the
glowing gold spot. Walk forward after the cut scene and take the Green
Heart. Head back to the main room once again, drop down to the lowest
floor, and head down the tunnel with the Green Gems on both sides of
it. Head up the Green Altar and place the heart into the body. Now, the
Green Wind tunnel will be active. Now, head back to the main room, use
the Dark Reaver recharge, and climb up the wall with the Dark Reaver
symbol on it. Head down the hallway, defeat the enemy, and use the Dark
Reaver to open the door. Defeat the enemies in this room to get a Blue
Air Forge symbol, and use it to open the door in the back. Climb up the
wall, either on the left or the right, and jump over it (this will
allow you to avoid the Sentry Eye, which is located on the other side
of the open doorway directly in front of you.) Head over to the left
side, hop up, and shove the Dark Reaver into the Purple Flame altar in
the ground. Run across the Dark Bridge quickly, as it only lasts for a
limited time. At the end of the bridge will be a block in the wall,
which you can pull out. Pull it out, and, when the Dark Bridge fades,
it will fall down. Move the block until it is against the front wall of
the room, in the center (opposite the Sentry Eye.) If you have a hard
time finding this place, look around for a Dark Reaver symbol on a
gate, which is just above your head. You need to use the block as
something to stand on to open this gate. Once you've found it, use the
Dark Reaver to open the gate. Stand in front of the Light Reaver
recharge located inside the gate, and use the Dark Reaver to blind the
Sentry Eye. Now, quickly, use the Light Reaver recharge located inside
to change the Dark Reaver to the Light Reaver. Now, run as quickly as
possible past the Sentry Eye. Head either left or right, and climb back
up the pillars of this wall. Stand so that you are in front of the
blowing air, facing the exit, which the cut scene showed you (it's a
dark room at the top of the area, with a small yellow glowing dot in
it.) High jump and glide across to the room. Use the Light Reaver to
shot the small yellow glowing orb. Grab the Orange heart, and run back
out of the room past the Sentry Eye (there will be a cut scene showing
the eye roll up, so you know it's safe to run past it.) Head back to
the main room, drop down, and head down the hallway with the Orange
Gems on either side of the entrance. Head up the Orange Altar, and
place the orange heart into the body. After a short cut scene, the
Orange Wind tunnel will be active. Head back to the main room, and jump
and glide. Hold glide and the wind tunnel currents will carry you back
up top. Land on the giant, open-mouthed snake, and look around. You
will see to statues on the walls. One with a yellow orb in it's mouth,
the other with a purple. If you have the Light Reaver, use it to shoot
the yellow orb first. If you have the Dark Reaver, shoot the purple orb
first. Then, drop down to the bottom floor, and change Reavers. Glide
back up to the top, and shoot the remaining orb. The Air Forge will now
be active after a short cut scene. Step forward and plunge the Soul
Reaver into the forge, and gain the Air Reaver, along with a larger
life gauge. Proceed towards the door that closed during the cut scene
(it's directly behind Raziel.) Notice the large circle on the ground,
surrounded by three smaller circles? These are the air altars. Plunge
the Air Reaver into the center of it, to activate an updraft. Glide
upward, and you'll find a round pipe over the door. Land on the pipe,
and walk through it. Drop down on the other side. Head down the hallway
to activate the next checkpoint. When you reach the door that is
cracked, use the Air Reaver to fire a projectile at it to destroy it.
Pass through the opened doorway, and head back down to the lower level
in this area. Use the Soul Reaver to open the Soul Reaver door that is
in front of you.
You're now back in Uschtenheim. On your way back through Uschtenheim,
you'll encounter a closed gate while trying to reenter the city. Just
high jump up on top of the wall, defeat the guards, and hold the lever
to open it. It's also a good idea to use the save point here, since
you've done so much and haven't been able to save lately. Head towards
the gate that you originally entered Uschtenheim through. Hold the
lever on the left side of the gate to open it. You need to head back to
the Time Stream Device in the Swamp, so head back to the Swamp, and
I'll pick the guide back up there.
===================
24. Swamp
===================
Upon entering the Swamp again, you'll activate a checkpoint.
Proceed forward on the path until you reach save point, which you can
use if you need to. Just past that will be an archway, which you should
pass through, then head in a large U-shape, until you reach the second
archway. Pass through this, and follow the path until you activate the
next checkpoint. To the right of the checkpoint will be the Time
Streaming Device's door (near the edge of the room.) Use the Air Reaver
to fire a projectile at the door, which will destroy it. Proceed
through this newly opened pathway until you reach an Air Reaver altar
in the floor. Plunge the Air Reaver into the altar to activate it,
causing an updraft to occur. Use the updraft to glide high up into the
room, and over the pit located in front of the altar. Follow the
circular path until you reach another set of doors, which will slide
open when you approach them. Walk through these doors, and you will be
in the:
==================================
25. Time Streaming Device
==================================
Walk up to the purple orb, which is the Time Streaming Device.
Press the action button to activate it, and a cut scene will play out.
Raziel emerges in an unknown era. Head out the doors behind you,
activate the checkpoint, and follow the circular path around to the
exit. Jump down, and then use the climbing wall in front of you to
reach the ledge. Exit through the doors in front of you, and, after a
cut scene, you will be back in:
===================
26. The Swamp
===================
Head back towards Uschtenheim through the swamp (basically, head
back the way you came, before you used the Time Streaming Device.) Use
the save point if you need to. After passing by the Save Point, there
will be a cut scene with Raziel. After the cut scene, head right
towards the wall. Locate the Air Reaver altar on the ground, and plunge
the Air Reaver into it. Use the updraft to glide up to the ledge, and
go through the opening in the wall. Follow the path, activating a
checkpoint as you pass it. A little past the checkpoint, you will
witness a cut scene in which Raziel sees the Sarafan Warriors. Use the
Soul Reaver to destroy them, then use the climbing wall towards the
right side of the room to make your way up the next path. There will be
Sarafan Warriors here too. Head down the path, destroying the Sarafan
Warriors as you go. In this next large room, there will be three
enemies that shoot magic, and three with weapons. Use the Soul Reaver
to destroy the ones using magic first. Now you can easily use your
hands or a weapon to destroy the others. Either head up the path to the
left, or climb the climbing wall in the back of the room, and follow
the path along to the gates of:
=====================
27. Uschtenheim
=====================
High jump on top of the archway in front of you, defeat the
guard, then hold the lever to open the gate below. Enter through the
gate, and there will be a short cut scene of Uschtenheim. Now, proceed
to the opposite end of the city, towards the back gate. If you need to,
use the Save Point in the middle of the city. When you reach the gate,
hold the lever to raise it. Follow the path until you reach a large
round room with four enemies. After defeating them, high jump up to the
low ledge on the northwest side of the room, and climb the wall behind
it. Follow the path, and then climb the wall at the end of it. Follow
this path, activate the save point, and watch the cut scene at the edge
of Janos Audron's mountain retreat. Jump down onto the frozen lake,
and shift to the Spectral Realm. Jump down through one of the holes in
the ice, and head North until you find a tunnel under the "water." Jump
up in it, and shift to the Material Plane using the Blue Portal located
inside it. Swim to the end of the tunnel, head upward; hop out of the
water and into:
=================================
28. Janos Audron's Retreat
=================================
Head to the center of this area. Look around and you will notice
a Sentry Eye guarding something, directly in front of you. Avoid it and
head left to activate the checkpoint. Run up the ramp, and follow the
path around. Move out to the platform in the center of the room, and
then glide across to the platform where the Air Reaver recharge is.
Recharge the Air Reaver, and glide back across to the center platform.
Head straight, and follow the snow-covered path. At the end of the
path, use the Air Reaver to shoot a projectile to destroy the cracked
wall in front of you. Drop down onto the frozen lake, and head left.
Jump up onto the ledge, use the Soul Reaver to defeat the two Sarafan
Warriors here, and then use the Air Reaver to activate the Air Reaver
Altar located on the ground at one end of the ledge. Glide up to the
next platform, defeat the Sarafan Warrior, and use the Dark Reaver
recharger. Now, glide back down to the frozen lake, and re=enter the
passageway you had just emerged from. Head back to the center of the
room, and shoot the Sentry Eye with the Dark Reaver. Run forward and
grab the urn. Now return to the center of the room. Use the urn to
scoop some blood out of the pool in the middle of the room. Now, go
back up the ramp, and follow the path to the center of the upper level.
Pour the blood from the urn into the pool located here. After a short
cut scene, a ramp will appear in front of you. Follow this path until
the next cut scene plays. Head down the ramp, and use the Light Reaver
recharger. Now move up the ramp next to the recharger, and head to your
right. Turn, and face the gap. Jump and glide over to the platform
across from you. Now, move out of this platform, towards a door with a
face and a red circle on it. Turn to face left, and look around until
you see two pink icons suspended on chains. Move around until you line
them up, and shoot at them with the Light Reaver. Assuming you have
them lined up correctly, you will see a short cut scene, and the bridge
will drop down. Now, head back to that side of the room, cross the
bridge, and defeat the enemy to get the Red Shield. Use it on the door.
Now, head back across the bridge, and turn right at the first
intersection. Locate an urn near the wall, pick it up, and fill it with
blood at the nearby pool. Now, head back across the bridge, through the
doorway you opened with the Red Shield. Head straight, and use the urn
to fill the empty pool. After the cut scene, head left and use the Air
Reaver recharge. Now head back to the pool you just filled, and go up
the stairs in front of it. Use the Air Reaver to unblock the path,
where the cracked wall is. Continue down the path, and use the Air
Reaver to break the next wall. Now, drop back down to the bottom level,
activate the Air Reaver altar on the floor, and use the Light Reaver
recharge. Use the Air Altar's updraft to head back up, and head through
the first door you broke open. Locate the metal fence in this area, and
stand to the left of it. From this position, locate the two pink orbs,
on chains (like the ones you shot earlier.) Line them up and shoot them
with the Light Reaver to activate the next bridge. Across this bridge
is another empty pool, so take an urn and head back down to the last
blood pool you filled up. Fill up the urn, and head back up, across the
bridge, and fill this blood pool up. After the cut scene, head across
the new bridge and use the Dark Reaver recharge. Head back, past the
blood pool, and across the bridge, to the intersection. Turn right, and
shoot the Sentry Eye with the Dark Reaver. Run past it, defeat the
enemy, grab the Red Shield, and quickly run back before the Sentry Eye
rolls over. If the eye does roll over, just jump down to the ground
level before it has a chance to shoot you. In any case, head back to
the sealed Red Door (it's on the second level, to the right, before the
Sentry Eye.) Use the Red Shield to unseal the door. In this room there
will be another empty blood pool, so, head back, find an urn, fill it
with blood at the last pool you filled, bring it back here, and fill
this pool with blood. Now, head back down to the Air Reaver recharge.
Use it, and activate the nearby Air Reaver altar. Use the updraft to
get back up to the 2nd level (you'll land right by the blood pool you
just filled.) Now, walk up the stairs, and door right. Walk forward a
little bit, and turn right (it's a gap between two "doors" on the inner
wall.) Look around and you'll see a gold disc with the Air Reaver
symbol on it. Use the Air Reaver to destroy this disc. Now, drop down
to the ground level and use the Light Reaver recharge. Use the Air
Reaver altars to head back up to the top level, and shoot the two pink
orbs that were behind the gold Air Reaver disc (don't forget to line
the orbs up, or they won't lower the bridge!) Now, turn left and head
farther down this hall until you encounter a door with a Red Shield on
it. Turn right, walk forward a bit, and turn left. There is a
half=bridge here. A piece of walkway on either side sticks out, with a
gap in the middle. High jump, and glide across this. Head left, and
defeat the enemy with the Red Shield. Now, head left again towards the
Red Shield door, and use the Red Shield to open it. Now, turn around
and head back through the room where you fought the Red Shield enemy.
Head straight down this hall, and turn right just past where you glided
across. You'll notice two pink orbs suspended, one of them is swinging.
Use the Light Reaver to shoot these. Time the shot so that they're
lined up, and you'll drop the final bridge down. Now, head back to the
area where you walked up the stairs to the third level. Head down the
other hallway, and you'll encounter another Red Door. Face left, and
glide to the ledge on the other side of the door. Fight the enemy here
to get another Red Shield. Note that there is an empty blood pool at
the end of this room. Turn around, and use the Red Shield to open the
door. Now, find an urn, fill it with blood from the last blood fountain
you filled, and fill the empty fountain. Now, find another urn, fill it
with blood from the pool you just filled, and head across the bridge
that just formed. Follow the path until you reach the next empty pool.
Head up the newly formed stairs, and use the Light Reaver to open the
door. There will be a long cut scene between Raziel and Janos Audron.
You will now be in the:
=================
29. Fire Forge
=================
**** WARNING PLEASE READ "Fire Forge" IN THE GLITCHES AND
PRECAUTIONS SECTION OF THIS FAQ BEFORE STARTING THE FIRE FORGE PUZZLE!
THANK YOU! ****
Drop down, and locate the torch located at the back of the room.
Pick up the torch, and ignite it on the open flame nearby. The room
will begin to fill with blood. Floating platforms will begin to rise up
from the ground. Glide across to each platform, until you reach the
cauldron with the wood in it. Ignite it, and the Light Reaver recharge
and three Air Reaver altars will emerge. Swim across to it and use it.
Now, use the Light Reaver to shoot the large, pink crystal on the
ceiling. This will drain the blood. Drop down, and use the Air Reaver
recharge on the ground, before the blood drains back into the room.
Now, when the room refills, pick any of the three Air Reaver altars,
and thrust the Air Reaver into it (the best choice is the one farthest
from the flame you lit.) After a cut scene, there will be three pillars
with updrafts on them, at different heights. Use them to glide up to
the next fire pot, and pick up a torch on the left or right side of it.
Now, glide back down on the air streams (if you touch the blood at any
time, you will lose the torch.) Ignite the torch on the flame at the
end of the pillars, and glide back up. Now, ignite the fire pot. Now,
if you want, you can swim all the way across the room. You can now
reach the Fire Forge, but it's not yet active. To the right side of the
Fire Forge is a save point, I suggest you use it since it's been awhile
since you've been able to save. At any rate, head to the opposite side
of the room (the end with the fire pot), and make sure you have the
Light Reaver. Shoot the large pink crystal in the ceiling to drain the
blood, and then quickly grab a torch and ignite it. Use the updrafts to
glide all the way across the room, and land in front of the Fire Forge.
Walk up to the center of the Fire Forge (a raised, round circle) and
use the lit torch to ignite it. This will activate the Fire Forge.
Plunge the Soul Reaver into the Forge, and, after a cut scene, you'll
have the Fire Reaver, and an even larger health gauge. If you have not
yet saved, do so now. Now, head down the hallway to the left of the
Fire Forge, and use the Fire Reaver to open the door. There will be a
cut scene in which you will see the Heart of Darkness ripped from Janos
Audron, and Raziel will see his human self, which will in turn see his
Soul Reaver form. You are now back in:
=================================
30. Uschtenheim
=================================
After the cut scene, your new objective is clear: Head to the
Sarafan Stronghold in this era, reclaim Janos Audron's heart, and the
Soul Reaver, and restore the heart to Janos' body. Head off of the
frozen lake, and you will encounter two of the large enemies from the
future. After the cut scene, defeat them and continue onward. Work your
way through Uschtenheim, watching the various cut scenes involving
Raziel and the demons from the future. Use the save point in the town
if you need to, and head back into the:
==================
31. Swamp
==================
Jump down off the wall, and defeat the enemies here. Use the save
point on the left if you need to. Just head through the swamp, battling
the enemies, and watching the cut scenes involving the larger enemies.
Now, activate the checkpoint and head back into:
============================
32. Subterranean Ruins
============================
In this version of the ruins, the water has disappeared, and you
will need to walk through them instead of swimming. Work your way down
the path, into the room with the large statue. Defeat the large enemies
here, and locate the Air Reaver recharger (it's on one of the walls.)
Use it, and then find the Air Reaver altar in the middle of the room.
Use the Air Reaver to activate it, and glide up to the ledge on top of
the statue. Now, use the climbing wall on top of the statue to reach
the top of it. Turn right, high jump, and glide to the ledge in front
of you. Head to your left, jump and glide to the next ledge, then head
left again and glide to the final ledge. Jump up to the next ledge, and
head into this room, and climb the wall located near the left side of
the room. Follow this path around, and head left, down a ramp. Follow
the ramp and you should end up in a pool of water. Swim along the
path, and you will end up in the Elder God's chamber. Swim up, and jump
out onto the platform. There will be a cut scene that involves the
Elder God and Raziel. If you need to, use the save point behind Raziel.
Otherwise, glide across the water in front of Raziel and through the
doorway. Follow the path until you reach the large door with the Soul
Reaver on it. Use the Soul Reaver to open the door. You will now be
back at:
========================
33. The Pillars
========================
Follow the path until you reach the Pillars themselves. Here,
there will be a short cut scene involving Raziel and three of the
larger demon enemies. You'll have to fight them before you can proceed,
so be careful, since they're quite strong. Now, head up the stairs in
front of the Pillars. Open the large double doors and pass through. You
will now be back at:
============================
34. The Southern Lake
=============================
Follow this path, defeating the enemies as necessary. You should know
pretty well how to get back to the Sarafan Stronghold from this area by
now. At the end of the path, drop down onto the frozen lake. If you
need to, use the save point to the right. Now, locate the Fire Reaver
Recharger. It's located at the opposite end of the lake. Use it, and
head back to the large doors, near the path to the save point. Now, use
the Fire Reaver altar in front of the large set of doors. After the
short cut scene, enough of the lake will be melted so you can open the
doors. Now you need the Light Reaver. Head northeast, until you can see
the Light Reaver recharger up on a cliff. Now, just located the lowest
ledge, and jump up on it. Now, just jump up and across the ledges until
you reach the Light Reaver recharger. Alternatively, if you high jump
in just the right spot, near the ledge by the Light Reaver recharger,
you will grab it and pull yourself up. At any rate, use it, and head
back to the large doors, near the save point. Use the Light Reaver to
shoot the pink orb over the doors to open them. Now, jump into the
water, swim down the path, and you'll be back in:
============================
35. Sarafan Stronghold
============================
Avoid the female enemies by swimming underwater. When you reach
the end of the path, jump out to the right, and follow the hallway.
There will be a short cuts scene of the door closing behind you. At the
end of the hallway, go through the door, and you will be in a room with
three enemies. Defeat them to raise the gate blocking the exit. Go out
the door, follow the hallway, and exit through the door in the left
wall. In this room, there will be a cut scene with Raziel, the Soul
Reaver, and Moebius. Raziel will now have the physical Soul Reaver, as
Moebius has disabled your wraith blade. For a bonus cut scene, try to
drop the Soul Reaver. For yet another bonus cut scene, press select to
try to bring up the menu. Head out through the only available exit. You
will now have to fight Malchiah and Zephon. Notice anything
interesting? You're life won't go down no matter how much you get hit.
After the battle, there will be a short cut scene with Raziel, as he
realizes he is now invincible. Now, find the short hallway with the
only available exit located within it. You will be locked in yet
another room, and after a short cut scene, you'll have to fight Dumah
and Rahab. After the battle, go through the exit that opened up. Now,
after the cut scene, you will fight Turel. After the battle, locate the
only exit, and head on through. Go down this hallway, and through the
exit. In this round room, you will fight your final Sarafan Warrior,
Raziel himself. Now, the ending to the game will play out, involving
Raziel, Kain and the Soul Reaver. This cut scene will explain the
entire plot in one big splurge.

At the title screen (the screen with "Start Game" "Options" and "Bonus
Materials") press:
Left, Triangle, Right, Triangle, Down, Circle, X
This will unlock all the bonus materials. There should be a
confirmation screen if you did it right. Now you can go watch all the
Voice Talent stuff that was locked, among other things. Be sure to
watch the Outtakes under voice talents. Also as a side note, this is
the only way to unlock these materials. The game gives you the code
after you beat it.
