At Donnington when you are coming up to the last left right
combination before the hairpin you should aim for the grass to the
left of the sharp bend sign try to run as straight as possible and
head for the grass to the left of the central reservation. You will
overtake a lot of cars here!
At the hairpin get over to the left of the road and just before you
reach the advertising hoarding at the end of the central barrier jam
on your brakes keeping your finger on the accelerator and turn the
wheels full lock to the right. You will slide across the grass.
Dab the wheels left a touch when you arrive on the tarmac and get
your foot down! You can both overtake other cars and block them by
swinging out in front of them. This should give you the edge in
winning this race.
Silverstone Tips.
Silverstone, it's raining so don't have full throttle from the start
coz you will wheel spin.
The following is for a hot lap, I would suggest not doing this all
the time because you will spin. Get a good lead and then ease off a
bit. In search of a good qualifing time cit out the last corner by
going on the grass and you will get a "lap missed" this will enable
you to have as many "bonsai" laps qualifying as you require.
First right hander, ease off the throttle on the 50mts sign, apex
the corner and re-apply power just before half way round he corner.
First chicane, this can be taken on full power, if you lift off you
will spin, keep left on the straight and brake (only in a straight
line) turn in early for the right hander and apply power about half
way round, straight line the next series of bends, rumble, rumble,
rumble keep on full power.
Hairpin. Keep to the centre of the circuit until you get to the
100mtr board as you get there you want to be on the left side of
the circuit as you draw level with the sign brake, turn in early
again for the bend and apply power early, if you re-apply power
too late you will run wide.
Left/Right after the hairpin keep to the right and turn in early
for the left right full power all the way. keep left on the straight
and right hander on full power.
Left/Right No 2. Stay on full power down the right hand side of the
circuit as you draw level with the 50mtr board brake/turn at the
same time and aim for the rumble strip, as you hit the strip hit
the power.
Left. The same technique as above but entry speed must be lower and
there is no rumble strip. On the following straight bear left and
turn in late.
Last corner, keep the power full on and get as close to the rumble
strip as you can, as you leave the corner let the car drift wide
towards the white strip on the left hand side then bring it up to
the S/F line.
This (in the Renault) should give you a time of 1:24ish and with a
good start you can be in the lead by the first corner. The best place
to overtake is into the first chicane and coming into the hairpin.
