elements (eg Earth, Wind and Fire) results in devastating damage on enemies.
EQUIPMENT
Weapons
It's essential to get your weapons regularly sharpened at the blacksmiths to
improve
their attack power. It can cost big money, so it's best to mainly sharpen your
favourite
fighting characters' weapons: these should include Viktor and Flik (who are both
needed
for the final battle). The blacksmiths can also attach elemental rune fragments
to
weapons for extra power.
Armour
To survive the onslaught of the tougher enemies, you'll need to equip your
characters
with the best armour you can afford. As well as headgear and armour, they can
wear two
other protective items. Only certain characters may carry a shield. Some armour
and
items offer a magic, speed or power bonus.
Crystals/Runes
There are many different crystals and runes to be found, offering a wide range
of
powers. Once attached by a runemaster, some enable the wearer to cast spells,
while
others improve fighting ability.
Healing Items
It's essential to stock up with medicine before going on your travels. One dose
replenishes 100 HP. Later on you'll need mega medicine to restore 500 HP at a
time
so don't waste it repairing minor damage. For the final battles,
sacrificial buddhas
come in useful, automatically reviving the character when all HP are lost.
EXTRA ITEMS
Paint
Different-coloured paint can be found in chests or bought at some stores. By
taking all
the colours to the painter Ivanov, he'll complete a mural, then give you his
binoculars.
Now, during a normal battle, press the Square, Triangle, Circle, Cross buttons
on
controller 2 to alter the view!
Books
There are eight Old Book volumes to discover on your travels. Hand them to Hugo
in
your castle library, so that you can read them.
Sound Settings
These are found in certain chests. Take them to Melodye for extra sound options.
Window Settings
You'll find these on your travels. Give them to Window and you'll be able to
alter your
window colours and borders.
Antiques
In chests, or after battles, you'll find '?' pots and ornaments. Take them to an
antique
expert (eg Jabba) to have them appraised. You can then sell them for up to
10,000 gps
or place them in your castle baths for show.
CHEATS
Vaulting Cheats
You don't need to keep buying mega medicines etc. Any item that you can use,
stick in
the vault when you have one charge left. When you withdraw it, it will have all
its charges
back. This way you can save your gold for more important things.
Extra Gold
At Rockland, you'll meet Marco the hustler. Play the game with her and bet
10,000 bits
each time on the following cup sequence: right, centre, centre, left. Then quit
playing with
her, walk right back to her and play again. Do this loop
until you've won around 400,000 gold bits -- when she'll change the sequence.
