Death Becomes You
In Armored Core (AC), try to die with less then -50,000 credit in your account.
If one death does not bring you below 50,000, you can always die again.
When this happens, an FMV (sort of) will start, and after it, the game will
start
over from the first stage, however you get to keep everying you own.
The benefit of this trick is that when you do start over, you get special
bonuses each time you do this trick.
1st time: Your Radar becomes a Grid
2nd time: no change
3rd time: no change
4th time: You can now fire your back weapon while you move
5th time: no change
6th time: Your energy output doubles, giving you almost unlimited flight with
the right configuration

Final Level Walkthrough:
Be able to jump high and long; have the most power generating
capacity you can get; minimize the weight in your arms and head.
HEAD: REDEYE
CORE: (big round shouldered core)
ARMS: default arms (you don't need anything else)
LEGS: the most expensive four-legged type legs
GENERATOR: the most powerful
FCS: the four lock
OPTIONS: ALL the defensive ones and the increased power option
BACK WEAPONS: Linear Gun & Chain Gun
ARM WEAPON: the best portable machine gun (1000 rounder)
First off, the crap about taking down floating mines is just that, crap. You'll
be assaulted in the first room you come to. Be prepared. Hold back in the
corridor and blast away the heavier mechs that come after you with the Chain Gun
and Linear Gun. Don't be too conservative with ammo, but don't drain yourself
either--there's more enemies beyond this room. On the wimpier mechs and those
you figure are about dead, hit them with the machine gun. Once you've nuked them
all, buzz over to the far door (it won't open until you've cleared this room).
Go to the elevator room and use your "action" button to activate the elevator.
At the next room, do the same as before, pull back and blast away with your big
guns. You're gonna reload and re-armor after this, so do what it takes to nuke
them all, but try not to get out in the open if you can avoid it. If you're
left with one of those pesky red mechs that can buzz about like a fly, use your
machine gun or chain gun and hammer him (the linear gun is too slow against
them, but the machine gun can carpet the lil bastard and the chain gun will rip
them to shreds once a lock from a decent distance is established). Once you've
cleared this room your armor and ammo will be restored. The next room is a tower
of floating blocks, but many of the blocks have stationary guns. There are two
mechs (bird-legged wimps) in this room. The first one will seek you out; the
second will come at you once you've gotten high enough. Use the chain gun and
linear gun to frag the mechs; the machine gun to blast the stationary guns. Once
you've eliminated the threats of guns and mechs, you need to jump to the top of
this tower to continue. Here's where this design pays off--you can jump like a
mo-fo (and still shoot the machine gun if necessary). It might take a couple of
tries (I always jump with the view directly downward, it makes finding your
target landing site easier to locate). Use the map and up view to time/line up
your jumps, then drop your view. Once your up to the top and you've made it into
the air shafts, you'll take out a couple of bird-legs and then "Nine-Ball"
(enemy AC) will come after you. Jump down the big airshaft and move over to the
next air shaft. You'll be going up again in this second airshaft and 9--ball
will hunt you down there. Get over onto a ledge when he shows up and run
around the ledge in circles until you've nuked his ass (he's easy; mostly
attempting to nail you with missiles/rockets or laser blade. I found him very
easy to kill with the 1st-person POV--easier to keep locked-on. The code for
the POV view is: triangle+square+start--the game pauses; unpause and you'll be
in the POV view. Pause again and you're back to normal view. Up and Down works
the same way in POV). Once you've killed Nine-Ball, keep jumping up, ledge by
ledge until you get to the top again. Here you'll find one more bird-leg to
kill and the Raven HQ computer. Nuke it (jump onto it for the easy kill) and
the game will run the final cinema and credits. Save the game afterwords (you'll
be asked if you want to). Now you'll be able to go back a play any missions
that you missed during the
first time through.
