I. VERSION HISTORY
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1.0- first version!
2.0- Shenk's the way to go, man!
3.0- Sorceresses are actually viable options...
4.0- Not much. 1.11 was just released, so I had to remove some stuff to fit the
patch.
II. WHAT IS DIABLO CLONE?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In Diablo 2, the original goal was to fight diablo and defeat him again. With
the introduction of the expansion pack, diablo became a second-in-command to
Baal, which undermined the entire game. Why have a game called Diablo if he's
not the final enemy? To compensate for this, blizzard released a new version of
Diablo. He has 2 names- Über Diablo and Diablo Clone. This new form of Diablo
far surpasses his old form, and puts Baal to shame.

III. HOW DO I FIND THE DIABLO CLONE?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Now, don't get all upset; they've not replaced the diablo in Hell mode, they've
simply added in another fight of Diablo. You can only fight him on the
battle.net realms, and you can only find him on the hell difficulty.
Blizzard is a smart company, using uber diablo to fix their problems with
cheaters.
The Stone of Jordan, a unique ring, is arguably the best ring that you can get.
It was duplicated beyond belief, and depreciated to almost nothing. There were
thousands of them floating around the realms, and everyone used them as
currency. It wasn't uncommon to have 30 or 40 of them.
Über Diablo isn't always around; you must make him appear. In order to make him
appear, you have to sell Stones of Jordan to merchants. Not just 1 stone, mind
you- you have to sell 75-125 Stone of Jordan rings, and Über diablo will walk
the earth.
\_/\_/\_/
"75 rings?!?! I'll never find him!!"
Never fear, it's not quite that difficult. I forgot to mention, on the server,
75 rings need to be sold. Not per game, per server.
Not sure what a server is? I'll explain:
1- you are given a server number from IRC etc... (example server 13)
2- minimize diablo, go to start, run
3- type in CMD and hit enter, which should bring you to command prompt
4- type netstat, which will bring up a series of numbers
5- look for the "foreign address" that ends in 4000 (example foreign
address 11.11.11.13.4000)
6- the number before 4000 is the server you are in
If you're still confused, let's just call a server a local cluster of computers.
Each realm has their own servers.
Now, you have to be in a hell game to meet Über diablo. Every time a Stone of
Jordan is sold on your server, the screen will alert you. HOWEVER, the number
shown means nothing; it tells you how many have been sold on this server
since the beginning of the season on battle.net. Just keep alert.
If enough are sold, a random game on the server will witness the alert
"diablo walks the earth!" Look for a superunique monster. Über diablo will
replace the first superunique monster that you come across after you see that
message. (A super unique monster is a unique monster that will be there in
every game. Examples- rakanishu, bishiboshi, blood raven, etc.)
"Does Diablo Clone reappear in another game if you don't kill him, and the game
dies?"
No, Diablo clone walks the earth once, and only once. Leaving the game kills
him off.
IV. FIGHTING DIABLO CLONE
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Diablo Clone is not something to tackle at a low level- he's level 110, and has
over half a million HP.

First and foremost, you have to deal with his monstrous HP amounts. He'll gain
back HP at extraordinary rates, so deal with that by equipping a "prevent
monster heal" weapon. One hit with it, and he won't heal anymore. I'll discuss
damaging him in a minute.

Next, we'll discuss his attack. Diablo Clone may be strong, but he uses the same
abilities as the original diablo, adding on the armageddon spell. Max your
lightning resistance, max your physical resistance, and max your fire
resistance. With those 3 maxed, you can survive his attacks.

Now, how to damage him: He's got 95% resistance to fire, ice, lit, and poison,
which means you can't use a sorceress (and probably not an amazon). There are
2 strategies- Magic damage and physical damage.

"Unlike other masteries, Cold Mastery reduces a target's resistances to cold,
and any pure cold sorceress would have a high enough Cold Mastery to reduce
his resistances into the negatives, thus allowing the sorceress to effectively
harm Uber Diablo. Of course she probably need to rely on her mercenary to
prevent Uber Diablo's healing capabilities."

It seems I was mistaken, there... >_< Yes, if you have -100% cold resists or
more on your blizzard sorc (and as he said, any decent sorc would), a cold sorc
is as capable as the rest of them to take him down.

As an afterthought, you could probably use a poison necro on Dclone, too. You'd
need a dozen perfect poison facets along with all of the reduce poison %
equipment that you can get, but it is certainly doable.

Physical damagers will need an incredible attack rating, but much more
importantly, you need crushing blow. 50% crushing blow or more is a must.
Jobs that can do it are- A good barbarian build, a kick assassin, a
smite paladin. Essentially any build that focuses on an attack that improves
attack rating, so that your attacks will always connect, and you'll do a
crushing blow.

Magical damagers are a great way to tackle him. Hammerdins are the obvious
choice here. Bone necros are OK, but a hammerdin is the frontrunner choice.

"Berserk barbs can possibly do it because of the percentages of magic
damage percentages"

Indeed, silly me. A proper barbarian COULD POSSIBLY defeat uber diablo with
berserk, just as he could with an insane attack rating. However, I must say that
the lowered defense by berserk would make it very easy for Dclone to absolutely
wipe you out.

\_/\_/\_/

^^That's the way to do it solo. However, doing it as a group is the typical
way to go. Diablo clone "hunters" travel in packs, and that gives you a bit
more variety. The same strategies apply, but there's more leniency. You still
can't use many elemental attacks, but anything else should do the trick.

Once you've beaten him, CONGRATULATIONS! You've killed the toughest enemy that
blizzard has to offer you.. now to attack your partners.. :D

Diablo Clone drops the annihilus charm when he dies. It's an item that everyone
wants, so be quick about grabbing it; he only drops one.

VI. CONTACT ME
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I admit, as I write this guide I haven't played Diablo 2 in 3 or 4 months. Thus,
I'm bound to have some errors in what I've written. If you want to make a
correction to it, Email me at kirbix@gmail.com (older guides say @hotmail, and
that will still work, too; I've just changed primary email providers).
If you have a good suggestion, I'll take it, and I WILL CREDIT YOU. Blah,
people still plague me about supposed idea theft... I don't steal ideas, and
I never DID steal ideas...
