I. Translation Notes
There are a couple attack translations I'm not completely sure of: Mystic's
Rue, Kyoto Flower Kick, and One Finger Wave.
In addition, Bacchin Press and Bash of Shokkaku are only half translated, as
you might have noticed from their names.
Also, just to make it clear that I'm not nuts, when you see Freeza's "Spirit
Bomb Wave" (Ki Baku Ha) move, rest assured it is properly translated. "Genki
Dama," which was renamed "Spirit Bomb" in the US version of the anime,
actually translates to "Health Ball."

II. Basic Controls
COMMON ATTACKS: Square makes a character punch, X makes him kick, and Circle
makes him fire a Light Bullet.
SPIRIT CHARGING: Holding Square, X, or Circle down will make a character
charge his Spirit Meter.
BACKWARD/FORWARD + SQUARE: This makes a character throw his opponent, if he is
close enough to the opponent.
COMMAND TECHNIQUES: Every character has several special techniques that are
listed in the next section's move lists.
DASH: Pressing and holding L1 or R1 makes a character dash left or right,
respectively.
JUMP: Pressing up on the directional pad will make a character jump.
SKY DANCE ART: Pressing Triangle will make a character fly, or land if he is
already flying.
BACK STEP: Tapping Backward twice quickly makes a character do a short dash
away from the opponent.
BASIC GUARD: Holding Backward on the directional pad when attacked will make
a character do a basic guard.
LIGHT BULLET DISPERSING: Pressing Square + X will make a character do a short
attack which will nullify non-unblockable Spirit attacks that are hit with it.
BARRIER: Pressing Down, Down-Backward, Backward + Circle (and holding Circle
down) will make a character put up barrier that drains his Spirit Meter, but
will nullify any Spirit attack, even if it is normally unblockable.

III. Move Lists
[Jump] means that your character must be jumping when you execute the attack.
[Anywhere] means that the attack can be executed while standing/floating and
jumping.
[Hold] means that you must hold the directional pad in the specified direction
for at least 2 seconds before proceeding with the rest of the attack.
[Throw] means your character must be in throwing range of your opponent's
character when the attack is executed.
[Unblockable] means the attack is unblockable, except for by a barrier.

IV. The Secret Characters
At the title screen, press Up, Triangle, Down, X, Left, L1, Right, and finally
R1. You will hear a chime, and a short animated movie will play. You'll then
notice the title screen has changed to Dragon Ball Z Ultimate Battle 27. Now,
Young Son Goku, Turtle Hermit (Kame Sennin), Mister Satan, Super Saiya-jin 3
Son Goku, and Gogeta are all playable in any mode.
For move lists for these secret characters, I would recommend Louis Kwong's
Ultimate Battle 22 FAQ, which you can probably find on the same site you found
this FAQ.
