Beat Emerald Weapon Easy:
I have the less complicated (but more time-consuming) way to beat Emerald
Weapon (underwater), and I didn't even use a strategy guide (or Knights
of the Round)! This is gonna take days to do if you just started on disc
3 (shouldn't you have Final Fantasy VIII?). This is what you do (at the
Northern Cave, of course):
Have Cloud, Cid and Barret at Level 99 with mastered HP/MP Plus (better
get EXP Plus, huh?) so that all party members have 9,999 HP and 999MP.
Cloud should be equipped with Ultima Weapon, Barret with Missing Score,
and Cid with the Scimitar. Cloud must have Omnislash, Barret with
Catastrophe and Cid with Highwind (Cid is equipped with Scimitar so he
can triple the Materia growth, since Highwind doesn't rely on his weapon
for damage like Dynamite). The party must have 99 Megalixirs, using the
W-Item trick. If you don't have one, steal/mug one from Master Tonberry
in the Northern Cave. Try making 99 X-potions, too.
Materia: The party must have Enemy Skills Big Guard, Angel Whisper and
White Wind (if you can't find a Megalixir). Cloud must have Counter
Attack mastered, Slash-All and any Materia you want mastered (preferably
Summon Materia). Barret must have nothing but mastered Materia in his
weapon (like 4x-Cut, HP/MP Plus, Steal, a few Summons mastered, and
Counter Attack mastered) and other Materia that needs to be mastered on
his armor. Cid can have some Summon Materia on his Scimitar, and he
should have Mega-All, Counter Attack mastered, and Enemy Skills Shadow
Flare and Pandora's Box. All party members must have Big Guard (even
though Emerald Weapon can break through the barrier) because looking for
Haste in battle with Weapon will more than likely kill you trying, and
you can use Big Guard as long as you have MP (why use Haste 5x on all
party members then have to use it individually afterwards).
Land your Highwind at Junon and save. Make sure Barret has Morph (that
Missing Score makes the Morph damage better than the other characters)
and disable the Counter Attacks. Use Hyper on all characters so the Limit
Break will fill quicker. Save and go to the Underwater Reactor and morph
an ghost ship (where the fish are). You can use Cure2 on him because he's
an undead monster. You'll get a Guidebook afterwards. Exit and head to
Kalm and go to the far right house, then upstairs. Trade for Underwater
Materia. Equip it and GET READY!
Now, cast Big Guard so that the party is automatically on Haste. Keep
attacking with the Slash-All (Cloud) Shadow Flare (Cid) and 4x-Cut
(Barret). When Emerald does that Emerald Shoot which does 7,000 HP
(leaving you with 2,000) and destroys any Barriers, the person attacked
will counter. Now's your chance to use Megalixirs or X-potions. Use
Limits as they appear. If you use the healing item before you activate
the Limit, you will have a better chance of using it after the Limit!
When he calls those Emeralds and shoots his Emerald Beam, use a Megalixir
immediately because he'll counter just like you would. Repeat this
pattern until he's finished! So here's the summary:
Continuously cast Big Guard until Haste wears off; attack-use no magic
but Shadow Flare; use Limits and Megalixirs EVERY turn; make sure Emerald
doesn't have an emerald left-if he do he'll cast Tera-Storm which
instantly kills all party members. Even if you have Phoenix mastered
linked to Final Attack mastered, you'll have to put Hyper on your allies!
Hope you'll win. Be sure to trade the Earth Harp for mastered Command,
Summon and Magic Materia to that old man! Because you'll need the Summon
one for Ruby Weapon!
Beat Ruby Weapon...easy?:
Alright...My player of choice here is Cid. Give him the Master Summon
Materia and de-equip Mega-All. No need for Hyper, because he has Shield
and when it wears off (Great Gospel time), all damage incurred will
lessen it to 1/16! Except for Bahumut ZERO, Typhoon Pandora's Box and
Knights of the Round. Equip Cid with Mystile, Ribbon and Scimitar again.
Be sure to get W-Summon at Gold Saucer and have 99 Elixirs. Give Cid the
Magic Plus Materia too---mastered of course. Get ready.
Kill Cloud and Barret. Ruby will automatically put her claws in the
ground. Heal if she used Big Swing before you cast Knights of the Round.
Use KOR on her claws then Ruby (or just select the claws and hold O to
keep her from attacking). She use Ruby Flame which is damaging AND is
like that Pale Horse that Sephiroth uses. But with the Mystile and Ribbon
you're safe, right? If you do get hit use the Elixir or X-potion
immediately. Her Big Swing and Comet2 misses sometimes so if your ATB is
going up and she misses, use the KOR! It takes 7 Knights to kill her, but
it'll take longer because of her claws. She's easy if you used KOR twice
successfully, because now she's confused and you have a rhythm now. If
you're a true Final Fantasy master, you'll beat these two (even though
this slaughterhouses give you something you came get over and over again,
like the Gold Chocobo and those three Mastered Materias).
All characters at level 100, all summos including 2 knights of the round spells, all material, all items, all ulitimate weapons limit breaks. Submission: AndrewCastillo(wingzerocustom@earthlink.net)
